Making games, huh? What games, may I ask have you made?

OT: I don't really care about paying for LIVE. It's a blast and I get demos, downloads much, much faster. It's worth it to me, plus I get the 12-month LIVE cards free or doggone near free - the most I've paid is $30 per card.

Absolutely not. Why moan about a measily £45 a year? All the best MMORPG's are pay to play. The free ones are generally lacking in one way or another. Hope it stays as it is. That way MS will pump it full of gr8 fast services.

Xbox Live bothers me because I can do similar things for free on the PC through services such as the ever growing and improving Steam, but then I should have really said Games for Windows Live instead of Xbox Live

This, along with the PSN being free and improving despite being free are two factors that put me against Xbox Live. Xbox Live may offer nice features, but I don't try and hang out with and play with/against everybody I meet and I also haven't been one to really put a great importance on things like clans (biggest drama ever during the years of Counter-Strike). While it's a great convenience to have those features, I can wait for them to be made available for the PS3 while still being free or just play on the PC instead.

Thus, if the PSN can match Xbox Live for free, then I think that Microsoft should make it free. Then again, how much money are they raking in?

 That seems silly and kind of rediculous. Microsoft isn't giving you ANYTHING for what your paying for. Your acting as if Microsoft is taking your money, and delivering you a godsend. Have you ever seen steam? More content, FASTER content, BETTER DEDICATED servers, supports more players, I could go on, but just take EVERYTHING that live is, make it 10x better, and BAM, there you go. Steam. And did we mention FREE.? 

Anyone who WANTS to pay for a service like XboxLive is a drone -_-; I WANT steam on consoles.
