Forums - Gaming - How many of you really own a PS3?

I have a PS3. Fortunately, I don't have to buy a 360 or a Wii because I have roomates who have those systems. I don't regret my purchase in the least though. I am playing Motorstorm right now which I love, and I hate racing games. I use it as a Blu-Ray player frequently also. Next big game on my radar is Lair. I love Factor 5 games, so I think the game will turn out to be phenomenal. I would be interested in a Wii, but I think too many developers right it off as the "casual" system and therefore build "casual" games for it. The Silent Hill developer for instance (Silent Hill is one of my favorite gaming series of all time). In any case, I would buy a Wii before a 360.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson

I have a PS3 and I've got to say its one of the best $600 I've spent in a while. I can play media off my computer, watch blu-ray, play games, etc. I'd have to spend 2 to 3 times on a computer that is comparable (with BD drive and all). I do plan on getting a 360 when the 65 nm chips come out because even if it is a little less expensive, I don't want something that will freeze and break down all the time. Also, its good news that alot of non-shooters are coming to the system as well. As for the Wii, the Gamecube is sufficient for me right now until focus starts going into the games more and less on the controller. As far as game lineup goes for 2007, I'm definitely liking the PS3 one the best. But 360 is a close second. The Wii has two games I'm slightly interested in right now -SMG & MP3.

"Naturally the common people don't want war: Neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, IT IS THE LEADERS of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is TELL THEM THEY ARE BEING ATTACKED, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. IT WORKS THE SAME IN ANY COUNTRY."  --Hermann Goering, leading Nazi party member, at the Nuremberg War Crime Trials

LMFAO It does suck being poor, i didnt even need one job to get a PS3. Its called savings.

BR its not needed, Kojima is maxing out a 50 gig BR disk the people behind GTA4 are bitching at 360 limited space.   And no load times in Uncharted, you can thank BR for that.  Your really not one to talk ignorance.

With my salery I could without any problems and no need of savings buy more than one PS3 per month. I still thinks is too costly because it doesn't give me anything that I can't do on a xbox360, PS2 and a Wii. I could most possible afford those three machins for the just a little bit more money than a PS3 in Sweden. Explain for me why I should buy a PS3.

Note: I think PS3 might be a great machin, BUT when people claiming that it is only because people is poor they don't buy a PS3 they are blind. It is not just money, IT is called value. No one of my friends own a PS3 because the simple fact they don't see the value in it and god damn it me and my friends is all well paid.

Buy it and pray to the gods of Sigs: Naznatips!

Haze is a timed exclusive, it will be out for the PS3 this fall, most likely in November.

mmm ok men, the game look pretty cool

If I were to get a PS3, I would also get a 1080p T.V. to go along with it. My T.V. is pretty old and why not get a hold of the newest and best out there currently. Although, ultra-high def. could be coming along soon.

Curious then that Nintendo itself through the voices of Iwata and George Harrison said they are focusing in causal gamers.Odd that Ubi has created a brand for casual games specifically for the Wii and DS .Bizarre that the games that sell the most are casual games.Amazing that most hardcore gamers dont want to see the Wii anywhere their HDTVs .Mindblowing that analysts say the Wii is headed for the casual market .

PS3 may have a plethora of multimedia options ,but its still a game console .One year down we will see wich console has more hardcore games ...the PS3 or the Wii .

"Hardcore games"   You must be talking about Wii Sports, or was it Warioware, or EA : Playground, LOL

Yeah I wonder how soon Ultra-Hi-Def will be in the home. It is now in the cinema anyway, as the local Odeon cinema now has a new Sony (woo :P) projector, that has a definition of about 4000 x 2000, unfortunately I have yet to see it, so can't comment on how good it is. :(
