I DON'T CARE, this game is going to be amazing, even if the framerate is slightly less. For the record, IGN insider said that they are basically the same, with only marginal differences, so you should choose the one which your friends have so you can play online with them

Even if it's true, what's the big deal? It still looks slightly better than the 360 version, so if the PS3 version looks better even at a lower resolution, it sounds like the 360 is really the one being criticised.

i really couldn't care less about native resolutions, everything is upscaled these days anyways, as long as the ps3 version looks the best then i'm happy.

No, DVD movies are 480p because that's the codec the format uses. The disc size also lends itself well to fitting 2 hours movies and 5.1 sound at that size. You can pack 2160p on a DVD if you wanted a 20 minute movie. :D

Well for one, all the reviewers say the PS3 version looks better, that in itself should put this one to rest. Secondly, we're talking about a single person, no others can verify, and Rockstar says the versions are identical.

This is complete BS.

 When talking about games, the resolution has nothing to do with the delivery system of the code. The DVD is just how they get the game to the system. The game can be anything.

An example, is GT5p for the PS3 is 1080p. It's under 4 gig. (so you could put it on a DVD)

 Lots of 360 games are upscaled but not because they are on DVD.  The DVD format doesn't restrict resolution AFAIK.  The only limit from using DVDs is lower storage space compared to Bluray discs. The reason you don't find DVD movies at HD resolution is because they wouldn't fit on the DVD unless they were horribly compressed at which point having a high resolution is useless.

PS3 games get upscaled also.  Heck the gold standard for PS3 graphics GT5 is not at true 1080p (1920x1080).  It's thinner horizontally and then upscaled.

Pixels argument is moot, You can have a 5MP camera and it still won't look as good as my 3MP when I have one with better processor. Picture quality (and in this case video quality) depends heavily on the video/upscale processor.

I don't even know if it's true, I just want my game to look good.

No, what's truly funny is your reliance on a 160x90 animated gif that runs at God only knows what framerate as proof of anything.


I don't really care what framerate the gif runs at, but i can clearly tell major pop-ins and textures not loading. It also looks like another person has posted a Gif showing off the greatness that is GTA4. But i'll post it again incase you don't see it.

Wow - looks like a "perfect 10" to me, and the "best game ever made" :P
