But the whole point of this thread was that I can find FFXII for $20 sitting on store shelves everywhere, lol.

Find me a copy of FFX that easily and I may pick it up. ^^

And I need to finish Folklore and start Rogue Galaxy now. >_>

What are your thoughts on SO3? I've been looking into that title lately, tbh.

I hope you don't mind me chiming in makingmusic, but I would look towards Atlus RPGs. They are of the utmost quality. Odin Sphere, Persona 3, Digital Devil Saga, and Nocturne are all supposed to be excellent and highly original. I know Persona 3 FES is retailing for 29.99 and most would agree that have played it that it's superior to FFXII.

 story is meh, but fighting is actually pretty good.  ffxii is good, but not great.  dont get ur hopes up. There are plenty other great games to play.

For some reason I keep forgetting about P3. I started working at GameStop a few days ago, but our store has no new copies in. :(

Hm, and then Naz told me to get Baiten Kaitos and BK Origins for the GC.

Yeah I would stick with getting one of the games on your list. FFXII is probably going to disappoint you. I did actually like the game, but probably wouldn't give it anything over an 8/10. Also take into consideration that an Atlus RPG is going to go way up in value again once it's off the market. FF's can be found everywhere. They made so many of FFIX that you can still find it brand new if you look around hard enough and we're talking 7 1/2 years ago that game came out.

 

I would like to remind makingmusic that it is kind of in fashion to hate on Square Enix at the moment. People like to get lost in nostalgia when it comes to some games. I'll admit, you probably won't pick up on the store the first time through, mainly because you will be exploring doing all the hunts that are a lot of fun. And at $20, for a game that in one play through could last over 100 hours is a good deal and there is plenty of replay to it, I've beaten it five times and got halfway through a sixth before I got bored of the game and went on to focus all my attention on other things.

FFX should be a lot cheaper than FFXII.
If I recall correctly, I think my GS is selling the game at around $9.

It is an awesome game. Only FF fans dont seem to like it.

You really need to get FFX. And I'd skip on both Baiden Kaitos games.

FFX is a perfect entrance to the series.
