Think about it, if it was you instead of him in the same situation.

They're blaming the guy because he intentionally made this situation.
And yes he did something wrong in the way he asked.
This thread would not be this bad if he named the thread title "What do you think of my girlfriend?"
Though that doesn't give the people here the right to insult the lady the way they did.
This situation happened because immaturity met with immaturity.

 I don't think you took it that way, but just in case, my post wasn't an attack on you, just stating that I thought what he did was stupid in the first place, which doesn't warrant their replies anyway, buttt it's not as if their posts were out of the blue. 

 And agreed (again) with your new post, lack of respect is disturbing, but that's the way the internet is at times.

I disagree. Repect isnt earned, its a right that lies in each person's dignity. Being respectful makes you greater.

No person is more important than another person, just cause of the looks or anything.

As for being popular/well received by the society, thats another story. That must be earned, but respect is a right to everyone.
