Many reason

1 - I buy products I own stock in
2 - Motion controls/IR
3 - Games (Has tons of games I like)
4 - Price
5 - Quality (I could throw my gamecube down the stair and it would not break, they have a reputation)

I got it because i was bored in the summer. It is quite cool, and i can see why people like it so much, but most of the games don't really appeal to me. I still got it though.

For the games mostly. At the time, there was only Twilight Princess. Now, we have Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Mario Kart Wii (coming out Sunday here), Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, Super Mario Galaxy, Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition, No More Heroes, Ōkami, etc. How can you go wrong with all these games? I alway grew up with Nintendo franchises anyway, so it's just normal to continue playing the sequels.

Oh, and I also love its sleek look. I love this little white box! =P



Random game thought :
Why is Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 getting so much hate? We finally get a real game and they're not even satisfied... I'm starting to hate the gaming community so f****** much...

I don't think anyone on these forums falls into that category....

And I don't think any of the non-gamer casuals fall into either....


Honestly, most people probably buy the Wii because of WiiSports. They buy it because of the WiiSports experience. I'm not saying that that is all they will play, but WiiSports epitomizes what the Wii is about. Seriosuly, just look at the Guitar Hero craze. If people are willing to spend $100 for a game and a guitar controller, $250 for a new console that offers just as zany an experience is a no brainer.


But no....people are not buying them to be cool. TBH....to most people in the gaming world Wii purchase = -75 points.

Did you check to see where ctk comes from? This has already been mentioned a few posts up. Give the guy a break. I blame VGChartz forn not having an "edit title" button for the mods.
