How do you think Sony and Microsoft could improve their next-gen systems?
We all know that graphics can keep improving over the gens, but will that be all?
Gameplay-wise, could they add new features to their systems? Which ones?

Xbox could add a gyro to their controller. (They still don't have one, right?)

Also, this, but on the other hand: https://www.vgchartz.com/article/469387/ps6-ram-and-ssd-alone-reportedly-to-cost-over-680/
Only expensive accessories (like VR) can add anything meaningful. But no one is going to include an expensive accessory to an already super expensive hardware. It's more likely that they will offer stripped down SKU's without a controller or cables lol. The best we can hope for is a standard controller with paddles, but that's being too optimistic (if you even care about paddles which I don't).
There will be portable SKU's, but the home consoles won't add anything of much value. Maybe another gimmick like touchpad/haptics/whatever.

Besides being accessible to consumers (via affordable pricing), I’d say just give me all the QoL enhancements that have come from tech over the past decade. PS5 is nearly a decade old… that is a lot of catching up to do.

I kinda feel like almost every change in the tech front since 2020 has made things worse rather than better in terms of QoL.
Most software for instance is actually less user-friendly now than it was 6 years ago due to enshittification, such as search engines pushing ads and purposefully delaying the desired answer so you scroll further and see more ads, to AI being shoved down our throats without our consent, to more features being locked behind paywalls.

As somebody who is using an iPhone from 2021 and a MacBook from 2019, I can assure you that the tech has greatly improved. My iPad from 2024, for instance, doesn’t overheat and have its screen pop off after 30min of use in the sun lol.
Same can be said when comparing even the Switch OLED to Switch 2. In every way (besides the screen…), the Switch 2 is vastly superior tech-wise.

Never had any such issues myself. My phone from 2018 still works just fine.
On the flipside, I've stopped using a bunch of apps and services over the last year or so as they've gone to shit in terms of being intentionally worse to try to squeeze more money.
