Sony: "The PS2 actually sold 165m ...170m+ units"

Sony sold 160M+ PS2 due to defects and it being a cheap DVD player. With Switch things won't be easy, but 160M+ units could be achieved if Nintendo keep selling to poorer countries with production extending beyond 2029.

It wouldn't have been ideal for Winds and Waves to come out and Nintendo to still lack a presence there and I have heard that Pokemon has gotten popular in Indonesia so that could help them start building up a bit of a user base there.

The Switch 2 is going to decline compared to the Switch 1 in Japan, Europe and NA but one thing it'll have over its predecessor that Nintendo is clearly looking to tap into is it being sold in more countries though the other total should still decline due to just how much more expensive it is than the Switch 1.

In terms of the Switch 1 getting launched as well I don't see that having much impact due to how old it is and that it'll have been available through unofficial means there for a long time but it is still noteworthy.

Emerging/second world markets are one area where Nintendo hasn't been strongly present historically; establishing a more active role in places like Indonesia, India, etc could possibly help shore up ageing/declining populations in the first world.

With Indonesia this year and India next year I see Nintendo still give the Switch1 plenty of love still when it comes to games.

There are plenty of 3DS games to port and 'Wario Ware' style games don't need the power of the Switch2.
