HARDWARE

As expected, Switch 2 sales won't pickup until some heavy hitters like new Zelda and Mario arrive. Maybe Pokemon W&W can improve sales back to 40k weekly, but besides that I don't expect Switch 2 to keep the lead with Switch 1 for long. My expectation for Switch 2 Pro is sky high though 😂

As expeced, S2 sales back to around 30k the week after Splatoon, and next week likely back to baseline ~25k.

Nintendo's gotta be thinking to themselves was a $50 (or well I guess in Japan it was ~$63) price increase worth losing 25k/weekly sales in Japan alone...and of course the global impact will be much greater starting next month. That is sooo much lost hardware revenue and future software revenue just to not be selling the systems at a loss due to RAM chips.

Really feels like all three companies are playing a game of terrible business practices and forgetting that userbase and software sales are how you make money and not hardware profits. Just selling one or two first party games to every additional buyer willing to buy at the cheaper price means they've made up the revenue they would lose by not raising the price.

I feel sales are gonna suffer going on from niw cauee the consoles are getting more expensive and people have less disposable income

Pretty sharp drop from Splatoon Raiders. How's the reception of the game in Japan?

The price sensitivity of the market in Japan seems really acute.

Xbox Series falling below 100 for I think the first time ever. The price increase happened on August 1, so only 2 days for this week. 

I think this have already happened before, like two weeks ago

Whoops my bad. You are right. So it has happened twice in 3 weeks. Not that sales were ever great in Japan for Xbox Series. Though, it is like the one place Xbox Series outsold the Xbox One...and by a lot as well.
