Forums - Gaming - Now That The Dust Has Settled… Opinion on NateTheHate’s Recent Leak Behavior?

I dont care either way. The leaks mean nothing to me and knowing theres a game announcement coming only makes me excited to hear said announcement coming from official sources.

I don't care? I actually like the leaks, dont think they are a problem

I’ll withhold my own thoughts until others have commented. I’m very interested to hear how others feel about Nate’s recent actions, revealing many major announcement anywhere from a few hours to several months prior to a presentation.

The guy has a near 100% accuracy rate.
And I love a good rumor.....  and yes it does spoil the events a small bit...

However, you watch the events not for the "names" but the gameplay shown of games.
This has little impact, as long as your "trailer" isn't just a splash screen with some text lines on it, baring the name of the game announced.

What matters to me, is just my subjective opinion on the gameplay trailers I see.
Knowing something might be there, doesn't really ruin your joy, when it is shown, esp if there's good gameplay/story elements shown.

Like I heard that Persona 6 was going to be at the xbox thing.
I watched that super hyped, waiting patiently for it (when I might not otherwise have).

and was then kinda letdown that it was basically just a "announcement of a announcement" for Persona 6.
There was nothing really to take away from the trailer, other than "it is person 6, it is coming at some point".
I felt let down, we didn't get any character reveals, any locations shown, any gameplay.

It was just "here is a flashing graveyard scene" "some fingers pointing" "Persona 6!" "the green tone" and that was it,......
The letdown wasn't too do with the "knowning" it might be there.... it was the quality of the trailer itself.

Honestly this is my thoughts on the matter too.... as long as there is some gameplay element or story line or something to hype you up....

I think this only really effects those far far away projects, that don't have anything to show.
Where the only "surprise" or wow factor, is just the "game name" showing up in text.
I'm not really a fan of those reveals though,...

I don't think they are a problem either.

I don't mind. Instead of learning about a game in a Direct I learn about it in a leak. There's always a surprise element. I like the guessing and speculating. It's part of the fun for me.

Think the roof would've blown off this place if it was a total surprise, it's too bad in that sense.

I think what's underplayed is that you'll be playing this game in 2026 ... not like 2028 or 2029 or something.

I think that leaking a game, or spoiling a surprise, is a shitty, selfish thing to do.

Is it a major problem? No, there are a dozen more pressing issues in the video game industry.

He also leaked New Mario 3D and Mario Kart DLC for next year!

I don't think he's said anything about MKW DLC except that it wouldn't be at the direct?

No, he said 2027. Also I really like your new pfp Zippy. Love to see Spyro getting that recognition he deserves! (Also, the reveal trailer for Realms Beyond is already over 10M. Can you believe that?! Crazy!)
