Forums - Gaming - Spyro: A Realm Beyond — Releasing Simultaneously Across All Platforms in Spring 2027

Skylanders was never my cup of tea personally, I'm more of a PS1 Spyro guy. I imagine a lot of kids grew up with those games though, so it wouldn't be super surprising if they cashed in on that someday.

Anyway, even now that the Direct's been and gone, this game was one of my absolute favourite reveals of the month's various shows.

Spyro already sitting at over 8M on his reveal trailer!! Thrilled to see such powerful momentum behind this purple dragon!

A lot of people grew up with Spyro, and he's been MIA for a very long time, so there's considerably pent up demand for his return I imagine.

Hopefully all this interest translates to actual sales.

The trailer is at 12m views now.

Let’s see how far it’ll go! Darn impressive numbers so far. If sales match this level of excitement, then that’s great news for Crash/Spyro/Banjo (and perhaps even Skylanders) fans!!

This is good news coming off of Crash 4! Love when a game is accessible over being aggressively challenging.

A lot of the criticism crash 4 got was for it's very hard difficulty to 100%. But I mean you don't have to go for 100% lol.

But Spyro has never been a difficult game, it's not really like crash where you can just die instantly. The hardest part of the original trilogy is probably some of the minigames rather than the main game itself.

Crash 4 was much more difficult than the originals even to simply finish the game, let alone if you were actually trying to collect anything.

I really hope they mean compared to Crash 4 instead of other Spyro games because like you said, the original Spyro games weren't exactly difficult either. Going any easier probably wouldn't be a great decision.

Great news.

The original PS1 games were never that hard, but I always welcome games being more welcoming and accessible.

And yeah, I feel like Crash 4's difficulty did make it a harder sell for modern audiences.
