So far I have had a blast with it personally; thoroughly enjoyed the likes of DK Banaza, Mario Kart World, RE Requiem, Pragmata, Indiana Jones, Cyberpunk, FF7R, etc.

It's first party catalog isn't quite as frontloaded as Switch 1 was, but third party support is much better.

I already own more games for it than I did for the entire life of the Wii U.

"It's only selling to the hardcore fans, once they all have one sales will fall off a cliff." - 2017, and somehow also 2025/2026

Got mine at launch, and the first game I played on there was Pokemon Scarlett's DLC because of the improved framerate on the Switch 2. After that, it was the Switch 2 version of Tears of the Kingdom.

I tend to treat Nintendo's consoles as Zelda/Mario Kart devices, with everything else as a plus. So far, one of them (MKW) was not that great, but not that bad either. I played a bit of DKB, seems like fun game, but not my cup of tea really (though I intend to get back to it at some point). Kirby Air Riders is fine I guess - I've only played smidge of it - that tutorial is real commitment, so given that it's been a while, I'll probably have to go through it again.

It's been mostly collecting dust for past few months, with neither my son nor me playing anything on it. However, this will change once OoT Remake releases.

For me personally:

Switch 1 first year collection: Mario Odyssey, Xenoblade 2, Doom, Yooka Laylee, ARMS, Splatoon 2 (6)

Switch 2 first year: MK World, DK Bananza, Cyberpunk, Kunitsu-gami, Fast Fusion, Wild Hearts, Star Wars Outlaws, Cronos, Hyrule Warriors, Kirby Air Riders, Hades II, Kena, Starship Troopers, FF7 Remake, FF7 Rebirth, RE Requiem, RE Village, Pragmata, Indiana Jones, Total Chaos, Fatal Frame 2 Remake. (21)

While I wouldn't rank any S2 game yet as highly as say Mario Odyssey, S2 has definitely got more on offer overall, for my tastes anyway.

Here's hoping tonight's Direct can start S2's second year with a bang; S1's 2017 was strong, but 2018 was rather quiet.
