I love Call of Duty, but only for the Campaign.

Bring me a decent solo campaign, and I'm sold.

Yeah I'm the same, never touched the multiplayer but enjoyed the campaigns of games like the 7th gen Modern Warfare trilogy, Black Ops 1-2, World at War, Advanced Warfare, Modern Warfare 2019, COD2.

They're good dumb fun.

Wait... on Switch 2?

How is that gonna look? and play? will there be cross play? I guess it would be there but... this is a surprise.

Ports like RE Requiem, Pragmata, and Star Wars Outlaws demonstrate the kind of adjustments to be expected in a AAA PS5/Xbox Series game like this being ported to Switch 2.

Crossplay is supported: https://www.gamesradar.com/games/call-of-duty/right-now-we-support-crossplay-between-switch-2-and-the-rest-of-the-platforms-modern-warfare-4-ends-the-13-year-wait-for-call-of-duty-to-return-to-nintendo-hardware/

Curious to see how well it'll do on Switch 2.

Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

Switch 2 is doing fine on crossplay so far.

rendered at 540p, DLSS to a 900p like image, likely 30 fps (or 60 fps via drops like RE9).  that is my guess.

It should definitely target 60fps. If they are doing the 540p dlss upscale they should be able to get a decent framerate. CoD isn't known for being demanding. I'd expect the multiplayer mode to be petty close to a locked 60, and the story/zombies to be unlocked 40-60.

I honestly have no idea, I haven't played CoD in decades.  I just know this is the first time the series dropped ps4 support, so I am guessing the graphics are going to take a jump.  Pragmata and RE9 can't hold 60 fps on the S2 (and render at 540p), so I wonder if CoD will.  Depends, I suppose, if they rework lighting/textures/etc for optimization.  It should target 60 fps, no doubt.  I can't fathom playing a first-person shooter at 30 fps.  I am on the fence, maybe slightly lean no, about it having stable 60 fps.

A 60fps target is most likely, just likely with drops into the 50s/40s during more demanding scenarios; this is how say recent COD titles than on PS4 so I imagine they'll adopt a similar approach here.
