Nintendo shut it down probably due to the guy opening a patreon.

Exactly this. The moment you try to make money off an IP that you don't own is the moment you are scum and deserve to be shut down. This applies whether you steal from a single person, an indie company with a handful of employees, or a giant megacorporation.

The price increase is because ram is tripled in price, that isn't really in Sony's control.  I don't know enough about why studios are being shut down, that requires insight on financials which none of us have.  Sony is a publically traded company, they do have a board to appease.  Gamers have a horrific ability to ignore economics.

At the end of the day Nintendo rarely does sales on software.  They ported Wii U games to the Switch at full price.  Prime 4 has music locked behind an amiibo.  3D All Stars was missing Galaxy 2, which they sold later at $40, which is absurd pricing, not to mention it was a limited digital release...   BotW on the S1 is still full price on their eshop.  The Switch has had zero price cuts.  Their Switch joy cons were pieces of crap which they denied, I went through 4 of them.  The list is extensive.  Wii U classic games weren't ported to the Switch.  Classic games are behind a subscription.

If you want to argue they are all the same, fair, but Nintendo is incredibly anti-consumer, I don't think that can be argued IMHO.

Since we’re comparing the big three… I feel like all of these examples are applicable to Sony as well, no? PS4 to PS5 remasters, PS5 has seen no price cuts, etc. And RAM price hikes have also hit Nintendo, yet no price hikes, meanwhile Sony/Microsoft have dramatically pumped up prices.

Could be.  To be honest I have a S2 and play it often, so my knowledge of Nintendo is high.  I haven't touched my ps5 in over a year, so I am not as up to date on their activities.

I don't see how the above video would fall under fair use. His copyright strike and takedown is well deserved. Nintendo isn't being evil here. They are just standing up for themselves and using their right to not have their own works stolen by others. The same right you would have to anything you created on your own.
