Tons of people were saying the "Switch 2" leak had to be a fake because Nintendo doesn't follow Sony's numbered hardware naming schemes so Switch 2 couldn't possibly be the name. And also Nintendo doesn't launch systems with a Mario Kart so Mario Kart couldn't possibly be the launch title because they've never done it before. And it definitely wasn't going to cost $450-$500 (lol). Wrong, wrong, wrong.

People waste so much energy on this silly shit. Nintendo gives no fucks about any of these so-called "rules", they'll break and make new rules all the time. They give zero fucks, it's all about today and tomorrow whatever their management (which isn't even the same management as 10 years ago) thinks is best. And that's it.

Nintendo quite frankly does the exact 180 opposite of what many internet enthusiasts think alllllll the freaking time.

Tons?  Cool, show us.  If there are tons, you should be able to provide evidence.

You make an exorbitant amount of make up arguments and never provide any evidence.

Show us where people said "2" was impossible and so was "MK."

I personally predicted $400 and said $450 was on the table, as did most everyone.  Dude, you are making up crap.

Why should I waste my time, it was out there and I stand by that. A lot of people were surprised the system was called Switch 2, a lot of people were surprised Mario Kart (rather than a platforfmer Mario) was the launch title, the price is higher than many people expected, the hardware performance is better than many people expected etc. etc. etc.

There's a million fucking things people were surprised, game key cards, $70-$80 games, etc. etc. I'm not just imagining all the stupid outrage from Youtube click baiters about the system (and despite that it's selling at a record pace, which means all this internet bullshit chatter means fuck all anyway) whining non-stop that the Wii-DS era Nintendo is dead and gone (good).

In fact most people's predictions on the Switch 2 were by and large wrong rather than being right when it comes down to the details. Most people had no idea what they were talking about and got most things incorrect.

Nintendo does. not. care. about. 5. years. ago. let alone 10 years ago, let alone 20 years ago. They will do whatever they feel is best for them in the present moment even if it directly contradicts whatever they were doing even a few years ago and that goes 10x more when you have a completely new president and many new board of directors appointments. All bets are off.

I stopped reading.  I won't engage with someone who makes claims but immediately refuses to provide evidence.

I don't need to waste my time because you do this same routine all the time. Everyone and their grandma knows there were plenty of people saying Switch 2 can't be the name becase "Nintendo wouldn't do that" or Mario Kart can't be the launch title because "Nintendo wouldn't do that" or it can't be $450++ pricing because "Nintendo wouldn't do that".

Maybe, frankly, the next person who uses "Nintendo wouldn't do that" as their logic should just get a boot up their ass at this point, because they've gotten virtually nothing correct in the last several years really.

Nintendo clearly gives zero fucks about the "Nintendo wouldn't do that" crowd. They do whatever suits them in the moment very clearly and break all kinds of past "precidents" on the regular at this point maybe one should ask if there's anything the new management at Nintendo does based on the past, because I'm not seeing it. Even things like having regular Directs at certain periods of time seem to be a no go at this point. New management means forget whatever the previous one was doing.

Nope.  Made up nonsense.  After the Wii-U, everyone and their grandma thought Nintendo should go to simple nomenclature.

Nope.  Mario Kart 8 sold 80,000,000, Odyssey sold 30,000,000, everyone thought MK made sense.

Must be nice making up arguments and claiming victory against imaginary opponents.  Cheers mate.

Oh yeah, everyone, lol.

Wouldn't surprise me that you will likely be wrong on this one too, which wouldn't be a big shocker given your entire narrative on the hardware turned out to be wrong.

"Nintendo wouldn't do XYZ" has been wrong about virtually everything and it will likely continue. Nintendo does whatever they feel like in the moment and when you have new leadership entirely, "Nintendo wouldn't do XYZ" means about as much as a fart in the wind. Nintendo's current leaderships gives zero shits about what Nintendo of 6-7 years ago would do about anything.

No, Soundwave is right that a lot of people on here were arguing about name/launch titles/price/specs. Things like

”Nintendo has never had a 2 for a system name.” (I personally thought Super Switch)

”Mario Kart is a game you buy when you already have the system, it’s not a system seller itself.”

”Anything over $400 is suicide.”

”Nintendo always releases weak hardware, it won’t be able to run PS5/XBSX ports.”

Yes, these were common arguments on this site. Just because he’s not willing to go through dozens of threads and hundreds of posts to prove doesn’t mean he’s wrong.

Now obviously this doesn’t mean everyone was making these arguments. A lot of people were also arguing in favor of 2/MK launch/$400+/powerful.

Well there are two main things.

1) link to evidence?

2) if one person says something stupid, the other 20 don't, it is disingenuous to claim it was a common position

I would love to see actual evidence that MK, which outsells 3D Mario isnt a system seller.  Same with all those people who said 2 didnt make sense.

Claims require evidence.  Pretty simple.  So provide or hush.  Especially if oh so many people said these things.  If all these people said these things, then there should be evidence.

https://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread/249910/what-nintendo-ip-has-the-most-system-selling-power-now/1/

Five people, on page 1, said Mario Kart is Nintendo's best system seller....

I would love to know who was stupid enough to claim MK isnt a system seller.  Might as well claim GTA isnt a system seller.

How Will be Switch 2 Performance Wise?

Page 4, I said it would "no doubt" run modern games.  Note how I provide evidence.  I also searched some of your quotes, ain't nothing coming up.

@Soundwave and @Chrkeller, I love ya (as a user on VGChartz), but please stop derailing this thread. If you want to argue, take it to PM.
