Battle royale games are declining in popularity so Fortnite declining is expected. The company has certainly not been financially responsible by overspending so much and that's starting to come back to bite them now. Epic Games will be fine since Fortnite is still big and they have UE but that game declining and the EGS not being as successful as they hoped is a rough combo to deal with currently.

Copying my post from the PS thread as it is also about layoffs:

Sony is closing yet another studio, Dark Outlaw Games.

The second studio that is led by Jason Blundell they open and close before even announcing a game.

Sony is also laying off a "small" amount of employees from US and UK.

And lastly it's also moving away from most of their mobile games initiative from now on.

All of the above was claimed by an user on ResetEra and got a "Yup" by Jason Schreier there.

Seems like that same user was also talking about Bluepoint getting shut down before it did too, as claimed by another poster. Dunno if it's another person to keep an eye about "rumors" or not, but as Jason "confirmed" it, it's already real IMO.
