Forums - Movies & TV - Dune: Part Three Teaser

Denis and company are back for Part 3! Looks and sounds like another audiovisual tour de force. Can they successfully create the next great trilogy in cinema? Will Chalamet's recent controversies kill the buzz? We'll find out later this year.

Around the Network

A quality trilogy released within a span of 5 years. Insane!

Great year for epics. Project Hail Mary, Odyssey, Godzilla Minus Zero, and Dune 3! Crazy it’s releasing alongside Avengers Doomsday while getting exclusivity in IMAX!

You called down the thunder, now reap the whirlwind

My second most anticipated film, behind only Godzilla Minus Zero.

Part 1 and 2 were my favourite films of 2021 and 2024, and this looks just as amazing.

I only just few days ago saw Part 2. And I hated it more than first.
Dune is my favorite book. In fact, my absolute favorite anything, above my favorite game, movie, comic or TV series. (To be exact, the second book Dune Messiah is the best part.)
And I'm really unhappy with this adaptation, it is just blasphemy for me. I used to hate the 1984 Lynch Dune, but this has made me appreciate that. The TV miniseries is still the best version (but not great either).

Obviously I'm very much a "it's not like the book/comic" person. But I'm not huge fan of Villeneuve's visuals and that is still his best area - it's characters and storytelling where he fails. Didn't like his Blade Runner either.
So I highly doubt I'm going to like this any better. Especially as there seems to be much stuff that happens between the books. Unless they take stuff from the recent midquel (like certain element in Part 2). But that's even worse for me, my Dune canon is purely the 6 original books.

Bobby Pattison looks great for this, but im not really hyped for this entry tbh.
