Forums - Gaming - What did you play this month? - February

Tagged games:

So I had this idea already at the beginning of the year to start a simple thread series for sharing what games we've completed/are playing each month for fun and talk about them a bit if we want, and of course I'm starting out a bit late as has basically become my brand, so January got skipped but I hope you can all still remember February! I'll try to hit the end of the month more closely moving forward.

For me it's been quite a slow start to the year in terms of games, but I did start up a bit in late February and played a few:

Completed:

  • Resident Evil 7

Playing (both almost completed):

  • Dead Space (Remake)
  • Diablo II (original, completely unrelated to the warlock DLC, started a playthrough with a friend before then)

Thoughts:

Resident Evil 7 was honestly way better that I expected, possibly my second favorite of the series for now (though will have to replay RE2 Remake to be sure). It's both a lot more scary while honestly still having really great gameplay at least when played on PC with mouse and keyboard. Diablo 2 is also better than I remember it though it still has some flaws, and Dead Space is pretty awesome but I'll have more thoughts on that when I complete it.

February was an amazing month!

1. Harold Halibut: Started the month by finishing this really uncanny game but with a weird amount of charm. Took around 26hrs but I had to replay from the longest chapter due to missing a collectible. I wouldn’t personally buy this (it was on PS+E) but I can recommend it.

2. Reanimal: Tarsier didn’t just cook, they sat me in the kitchen and made this order personally for me. I loved Reanimal. Not the longest game, the plat ran me to around 7hrs but I just wanna keep replaying it! Art, sound, gameplay is just perfect. Currently my GOTY.

3. Nioh 3: Glamurai Souls has never felt so good. Nioh is one of the only franchises that gets me genuinely hyped, and it just hasn’t let me down once. 119hrs later and I’m still returning to it to run expeditions.

4. Resident Evil Requiem (Started): As impulse purchases go this is probably the best I’ve ever made. Not even a RE fan but this game is so fucking good!. I finished my first playthrough last night and I’m currently an hr into my speed run.

Completed: Super Mario Star Road (SM64 Rom Hack) and Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour.

In-Progress: Mario Tennis Fever, Metroid Prime 4:Beyond, Super Mario Bros 2 (NES).

On my radar: DKBananza, KirbyATFL, Super Paper Mario, and Wii Sports/Fit.

Mostly Monster Hunter Wilds. After last year's and this year's updates its been great. Had they delayed the released date just a bit it wouldnt have had the rocky start it had.

Haven’t played much this year. Mainly been playing Arc Raiders with friends and relatives.

Gone back to Unreal Tournament 2004 though! Able to get several matches with full lobbies. Game is still just as much fun. End of February also got me playing Pokemon FireRed.

You called down the thunder, now reap the whirlwind

Completed: Breath of the Wild
Currently Playing: Resident Evil Requiem
