A friends OG Xbox, we played Halo and while I liked the game I hated the controller. Back then I could only afford Sony and Nintendo. I was never enamored enough with their games to buy an Xbox for myself but bought the oldest a 360 and the second oldest boy a Series S more recently.

Given the studios they have gobbled up I sure hope they do well in the games space or eventually sell off IPs. Although I get the feeling they will just let IPs basically die before selling them off. In truth I hope they stay in the console space in some capacity or at least play hands off with their developers and give them the leeway to be creative and flop from time to time without shuttering them.

OG Xbox with Halo. Had lots of fun playing with friends.

This.  Halo was mind blowing when it released and couch coop was fantastic via campaign.  Halo sold me an xbox.  JSRF was also a great selling point, tragic it hasn't been remade.

“Consoles are great… if you like paying extra for features PCs had in 2005.”

OG XBOX. I got it in late 2003 or early 2004, so no Duke, just two S controllers. It was an Adventure bundle at EB Games. With KOTOR, Mech Assault, and Alter Echo. And a Ninja Gaiden pre-order, which was the reason I got the system.

I still have it. The disc tray is a little finnicky, but it still works.

Playing Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles the Arcade game at my friends house on the 360. The only Xbox console I owned was the One S which I got a on deep pricing error at Target, mostly to play Rare Replay and Sunset Overdrive. Had gamepass for a little bit to play through all the Yakuza games, and some others years ago.

A friend of mine had the OG Xbox, we played Halo CE in couch co-op. Then when Halo 2 came out we played through that one too. Good times! Some other friends and my brother got a 360 eventually, so played that system a bit with them. I didn't get my own Xbox until Series S. By that point the Xbox brand had already started it's decline, and I have essentially abandoned the platform since then.

Original Xbox, I guess we got it in around 2003, though I probably played it at my cousins before that.

Mainly remember stuff like Simpsons Hit and Run and Need for Speed Underground.

Back in the days of the original Xbox I soldered Modchips into these for friends, so from time to time I was able to play some games on them. Played some dead or alive extreme or ninja Gaiden on it. Also tried Halo but at that time didn’t like the controller input for fps games. Bought my own 360 a couple of years later and enjoyed mostly the first party games on it

Pics were my first experience.

Good times, 1 week at a time. Got a few XB console rentals over the years back then. Definitely made an impression.

PS1   - ! - We must build a console that can alert our enemies.

PS2  - @- We must build a console that offers online living room gaming.

PS3   - #- We must build a console that’s powerful, social, costs and does everything.

PS4   - $- We must build a console that’s affordable, charges for services, and pumps out exclusives.

PRO  -%-We must build a console that's VR ready, checkerboard upscales, and sells but a fraction of the money printer.

PS5   - ^ -We must build a console that’s a generational cross product, with RT lighting, and price hiking.

PRO  -&- We must build a console that Super Res upscales and continues the cost increases.

I had a baby sitter whose son had an original Xbox. Played Halo on it. Pretty much that. I had a PS2 and Gamecube, but never owned one myself. When I got a XB360 I played the backlog on that though.

January 2002. I got one for Splinter Cell, much to the surprise of the girl I was with. I had spent the prior year or so ripping on it on the principle that Microsoft was trying to destroy console gaming (crazy thought at the time, but turned out not to be not that absurd in the end). So when I came home with one, man. She really had a laugh. I ended up really enjoying it, though. Spent many a hour playing RTCW (this game was the first big Xbox Live game, despite what history says), Halo/Halo 2 and PSO. Good times.
