Forums - Sales - Which system will sell more in 2026: Switch 2 or PS5? (Poll reset)

Which one will sell more?

PS5 12 36.36%

Switch 2 21 63.64%

Total:33

Animal Crossing isn't in need for a new entry. They can continue delivering content for New Horizons and it will be fine for this gen. I can see a huge DLC with many gameplay upgrades incoming only for Switch 2

I'm trying to figure out how Sony will handle bundles this year... specifically for GTA and Wolverine.
The idea of the all yellow unit with the claw imprint going down both top and bottom panels is to good to be true. it has to happen, right?
The GTA bundle is going to happen period.

Any thoughts on how they will configure the bundles? I assume the big seller this year for them will be the standard digital console with a digital code for GTA and that will be the 'door buster' this holiday. I have a feeling that a special edition Wolverine console will actually be more sought after than a special edition GTA bundle.

With those two games coming out in such close proximity I wonder how they will handle the bundles though.

I didn't even think about it.

A Wolverine Dualsense could turn awesome... but I don't need any more Dualsenses, lol, I'm screwed if it happens.

Lots of big games coming on PlayStation 5 which should sustain demand outside of GTA 6. Most notably is Crimson Dessert and then Wolverine in September. Even if the Switch 2 can take and keep the lead until November, I believe the PS5 has enough juice to finish the calendar year on top.

I can bet right now that not only will Switch 2 dominate march in Japan, it will also sell more than PS5 in the US and Europe in march due to Pokopia, from what i have seen of sales trends on various retailers during march. That shows how hard it will be for PS5 to outsell Switch 2 WW this year, not only will Switch 2 win every month in Japan, it also has the means to outsell PS5 different months in other key markets. The Switch 2 is not a Wii U situation, it is a system that will get boosts in all major markets when it releases appealing exclusive software.

Pokopia has opened with over 2.2 million in 4 days. Depending on legs the switch 2 should build a big lead in March.

Yeah, Pokopia has really saved Nintendo’s H1CY’26. What’s important now is what Nintendo has planned for H2CY’26. It’d also be interesting to see whether Tomodachi Life may see a similar launch to Pokopia— this game did go on to become one of the 3DS’s best sellers, after all.

Granted, TL:LtD may help NS1 more than NS2, but still worth noting I suppose.

From Chris Dring on X:

''Nintendo has a hit! 2.2 million sales of Pokemon Pokopia is excellent. Looks like it drove a strong increase in Switch 2 hardware last week, too. I imagine it’ll stick around, too.''

Given that Dring has access to UK hardware sales data, seems like a confirmation that the UK saw a big increase in Switch 2 sales due to Pokopia.

At this point, its still Sony's game to lose in 2026. Onward to March. Lets see if Nintendo can make some inroads in the US!

Switch 2 won January by 5k globally even though they lost in the US in Jan and now Feb. So it's not Sony's game to lose, they're already down. The thread is about global sales.
