I've always played on every console, so I didn't move anywhere, I just didn't get any more PS handhelds because they don't exist.
I could never game on only one system, far too limiting.

My favorite console/handheld is the PSP. I stopped playing it when I got a VITA and hacked it to play PSP games. I still collect for the PSP though.
I never really found the same appeal in Nintendo handhelds even though I love them all (special mention to the 3DS). The Switch feels, again, much different from a PSP/VITA. The perfect form factor the PSP and VITA have is nothing to be compared with and the hacking possibilities of the VITA is so wonderful that I'm still playing it to this day.
In december I was going to play Capcom Classics Collection Reloaded and then I noticed the battery was swollen.
Vita still ok.

I feel your pain. I opened my PSP case last year and found a very swollen battery :(
Luckily I have a second working PSP, although the audio only works with headphones plugged in.
It was a painful reminder that a lot of these systems will fail one day.
I cant really say i migrated anywhere, cause I always had Sony's and Nintendo's consoles besides the handhelds, so that dynamic stayed the same.
PSP was what really got me into gaming, so I initially played PS2, PS3 and Wii as well. But I was really into handheld gaming. Loved playing Game Boy and 3DS too. Did buy a Vita and at first it was a fantastic handheld with some very unique games but the way Sony abandoned it, I never trusted them again. I did buy and play PS4, but as soon as Switch came out, fell in love with that thing.
Mainly play on PC now and do have a Steam Deck but generally prefer playing on a desktop. Although as I got older I play video games a lot less, kind of grew out of it. And as the consoles focus changed forcing installs, downloads, endless updates and patches, just lost interest. I still miss the plug in and play nature of consoles. While the PC always forced all that like installs and updates but Steam especially made everything as seamless as possible.
Handheld PCs are great but don't hit in the same way as PSP, DS/ 3DS or Game Boy. Switch 1 was like the final hurrah, even Switch 2 is too big and not pocketable.

Prediction: Switch 2 will outsell the PS5 by 2030

New batteries are not expensive. Plus you can still play it without the battery if plugged in.

The Vita was my first handheld console and I was rather impressed with the hardware but it also made me realize that I have very little interest in that type of gaming. If I'm away from home then I'd rather bring an ebook or a tablet, where I can disengage instantly and pay more attention to my surroundings. I did not like immersing myself in a game around strangers. If I'm at home, I would much rather play on my PC.
I did get some good use out of it when the power was out for a few days during a hurricane but that doesn't happen often.
I have considered both the Switch and the Steam Deck--being able to play my Steam library is a huge bonus--but I just can't imagine using it all that much.
