So normally, it would be around the time of the month when I would update the tallies and OC scores for the prediction league... but being that nothing has been reviewed nor released yet, I've got nothing to share. HOWEVER, I did update the list of all predictions: Everything should be fully up to date, but I highly encourage everyone to double check your predictions listed in the tally (please see the top of OP for list). Additionally, I got rid of video embeddings for trailers of games releasing more than three months away. This is for the mercy of those on iOS, whose site would crash upon loading the OP lol.

That all having been said: I'm really excited to be getting started with the league. Thank you for your trust and support so far. Only a few more days until our first two games get reviewed! :) Again, it is such a privilege to get to host the 2026 OpenCritic Prediction League— thanks again to @UnderwaterFunktown for all the assistance and mentorship along the way!

I appreciate the tag and DM, firebush. As you figured, I tend to not vote for games that I'm less confident about to try and reach a higher average. And I seem to suck at predicting some/most Nintendo games! But I'll make another exception for Mario Tennis and go for a boring 78 (copying the average).

With 63 reviews and counting, Square Enix's Dragon Quest VII Reimagined — a remake of Dragon Quest VII, originally released on PS1 in August 2000 (JP) and November 2001 (NA) — debuts with an aggregate score of 85 on OpenCritic. This score comes only 0.3 higher than the overall league average (84.7).

Congratulations to @Kyuu, @shikamaru317, @Wman1996, and @UnderwaterFunktown on the closest prediction— with the first three seemingly on a hot streak… well, at least as far as the debut scores are concerned. Meanwhile, Dragon Quest VII Reimagined, the previous game in the league, has unfortunately slipped to an 84 on OpenCritic.
