As I said way back to someone, if Crimson Desert is half as good as it seems from all the videos over the years, I'm in. And it seems it's at least half as good, with lot of negatives in those reviews either not bothering me or actually being things I like in games.

For additional context to CD’s score: As revealed in IGN’s (nonfinalized) review, apparently there was some aggressive patchwork done after review copies had been sent out. There was a patch that wiped all save data, which… yeah. Not a great way to leave a good impression with review outlets: I know for a fact had I been told after playing 7hr of TotK that all my save data was going to be wiped and I would need to restart, my opinion of the game would have cratered.

With over six years having passed since its initial reveal, Pearl Abyss' highly amibitious Crimson Desert has finally hit the scene!— though perhaps it bit off more than it could chew. With 50 reviews and counting, Crimson Desert debutes at a modest 80 aggregate on OpenCritic, falling short of the prediction league average by around 4 points.

Big congratulations to @VersusEvil and @UnderwaterFunktown (for the third time!) on having the closest prediction! This was an especially difficult title to predict, so credit where it’s due.

Well at least I'm only 5 points off, I was expecting a drop into the high 70's. Shouldn't move me down more than 1 or 2 spots on the ranking.
