Forums - Sales - Why is this site so slow on updating numbersq

And I made my account a day before him :P

I will always have good memories of my time in this site although I have to say the European estimates are very inflated, under any circumstance PlayStation 5 sold in November as much as it is estimated here.

Thank you for the work you do, this place is important to some of us, I've lived nearly half my life being a member on vgchartz.

Damn, I just realised that I'm in the same boat. I actually went past the half life mark. So indeed, kudos to everyone who is still maintaining it. This means quite a lot!

Edit: Mummelmann I just noticed that I made my account just one day after you made yours. WAY back in '07 :D

That's amazing! It's so long ago, I can hardly remember what I was doing back then.

Probably reading discussions between Soriku and Leoj we all did.

Doesn't really matter though because if it didn't sell it in Europe then it sold it in China and RoW. The quarter is over and the results come out on Feb 12th and will likely be over 90M in shipments as per Sony CFO Lin Tao. So take your pick where you personally would like to slot the sales in but with all the discounts this holiday season Europe is the best guess for that.

December estimates will be posted by the end of the month. Japan and RoW will probably be posted week of January 12. Then Circana (NPD) drops January 22, so we should have Americas and Europe live within a day or two of that.

VGChartz Sales Analyst and Writer - William D'Angelo - I stream on Twitch and have my own YouTube channel discussing gaming sales and news, as well as posting random gaming content. Follow me on Bluesky.

I post and adjust the VGChartz hardware estimates, with help from Machina.

Just to give some further insight on the timeframe that the website posts their numbers, it's usually right after the US NPD and a few days after for that for Europe and WW numbers. For dates, just look for Mat Piscatella on Blue Sky and he has the dates for the next 5 months for when NPD releases and then this site will usually follow. So just use that as a guideline for when you will see updated numbers here.

They wait for official updates (Circana, European Reports, Famitsu) before updating the sales,

In the past they used to give weekly updates, but it had to be adjusted after the official numbers, so now they just wait for it.

Well that's stupid.

Long live VGC! It's past the half life point for me as well

Well we got Week 52 for France and the UK, but what about other areas?
