There's no real point in having an "official" release list because clearly Nintendo's newer management is abiding by not showing games until they are very near release.

You won't know what 2026 looks like until Nintendo Directs, this time a year ago we didn't have a Switch 2 reveal at all and knew nothing about Mario Kart aside from rumors and then didn't see Donkey Kong Bananza until way later.

I think a new 3D Mario is going to happen next year to coincide with the Mario Galaxy movie (same pattern for the first Mario movie which was followed that fall with Super Mario Wonder). But I don't think you'll even see that game until *after* the Mario Galaxy is out of theaters. So even if they have that game you're not going to see it probably until the summer at the earliest. 

Capcom has Resident Evil (9) Requiem and Pragmata slated this year for Switch 2 officially, but it looks like Monster Hunter Wilds could be happening for Switch 2 this year also, that would be the best support from Capcom in ages. 

I think you are going to see a ton of 3rd party support for the Switch 2 for 2026, probably the best a Nintendo system has had since the days of the Super NES. 

This list isn’t solely intended to give a complete picture of what is to come in the new year, but also to act as a nice repository detailing Switch 2 software support to reflect upon at the end of the year. It also provides (potential) consumers a source on gauging the legitimate value of the system, and not merely “Switch 2 has no games!”/“Switch 2 has games!”.

This list also serves the function of (1.) acting as a centralized list which details Nintendo’s first/second/third-party software support throughout during a given year, creating an opportunity to highlight the NS2’s software offerings, and (2.) better getting certain games on consumers’ radar.

Well, Project M is pretty much confirmed as a Switch 2 exclusive by bloober team. I would understand if it was not included in the list for not having an open announcement with a trailer and a real title but you already listed the next gen pokemon

Only thing holding me back js we don’t know have any info on whether it’ll release in 2026.

My first instinct is to vote fire emblem. Because I really enjoy them but then I remember I never finish them before getting burnt out. Did about 25-30 hours of Engage before I didn't want to carry on.

So maybe tomodachi, but I'm hoping an unnanounced game will be my favourite Nintendo game of 2026, the stuff currently announced doesn't excite me that much.

@160rmf Ah so it seems we may now have reason to include Team Bloober’s project on the “What’s Coming To Switch 2?” list: See link. Appears that Project M will be getting a reveal during the next Nintendo Direct if I were to guess, which likely means 2026 release date.

I saw a few, but they are either ports or niche.
