That's probably because we know it's not only UK and Spain but the whole Europe.

You mean most of Europe?

If you want, if it helps you feel better.

The only European market where the Switch 2 is probably competitive with the PS5 is in France, everywhere else like UK, Germany, Spain, Scandinavia, Poland, Greece, Italy etc, Switch 2 is not a viable competitor to PS5.

It doesn’t really matter to me. If you have all of the sales charts for every country in Europe (44 of them), then you can be more definitive.

I mean, sure Switch 2 not a viable competitor to the PS5 in Europe. But I think Switch 2 will hold its own eventually. Especially once it’s next big games come out.

still waiting on your answer on that CoD deal.

Think logically, if PS5 outsells Switch 2, 5-1 to in Spain, that isn't magically going to be much different in other European markets. PS5 will be selling 3 to 5 times more every single week in pretty much all countries outside France.

November and Black Friday sales here in Brazil at least on Amazon we had potentially well over 20:1 ratio for PS5 to Switch 2.

Amazon shows sales of over 30K and over 10K for PS5 digital and disc models (minumin 40K but likely well above that), and sales of 1000, 700 and 400 for the Switch 2 Mario Kart World, Pokemon Legends ZA and Switch 2 only (minimum 2.1K but not possible to be well above that without reaching other sales milestones).

PS VR 2 was above 3K itself there.

And there was also a lot of good coupouns on other big stores and markeplaces like Mercado Livre, Kabum, Magazine Luiza and even Shopee and AliExpress.

Playstation consoles, accessories and games here got a lot of great price drops, I would definitely have jumped on it myself if I didn't have one already.

Nintendo's main problem is that they seemingly don't have any of the good distribution partners Sony has all over the world, which means that outside Japan and the west, Nintendo is basically dead with no possibility of growth due to the sky high prices of Nintendo consoles outside Japan and the west. PS is everywhere on the other hand due to Sony's much better distribution on lower cost.

It all comes down to Nintendo all in all being a fairly small video game company with 9k employees, they can't really ever compete with Sony on a global arena when it comes to gaming. Nintendo can only focus on a few big markets.

No Nintendo console has ever sold decent numbers outside Japan, the US and Europe, while Sony already during PS2 era sold tens of millions of consoles outside those 3 markets.

Well, I just bought the Switch 2 so the ratio is smaller now here in Brazil lol

In France, it's a 50/50 split between Nintendo and PlayStation. The main difference is that Nintendo appeals to a wider audience, especially children. The original Switch was a huge success in France thanks to its aggressive pricing: it was €279. Many parents bought Switch 1 consoles for their children, sometimes even two or three per household. Now, with the Switch 2, the price is much higher, so parents who bought the original Switch are hesitant to upgrade to the Switch 2, which they consider too expensive. Furthermore, there are still plenty of games being released for the original Switch. The fact that the original Switch is still selling well is also hurting Switch 2 sales. It's not 2017 anymore; many things have changed, especially in the economy. There's significant price inflation in Europe, including in France. In 2017, many customers bought both the Switch and the PS4. Now, customers have to choose between the PS5, the Switch 2, and the Xbox Series. Many people can no longer afford to buy two consoles these days.

Hardware sales: 65,000 PS5s rolled out of stores, more than double Switch 2, though she also celebrates
Quick review of the hardware, which emptied warehouses even faster than in week 47. In round numbers, Sony shipped 65,000 PlayStation 5, far improving the already excellent previous brand, although the one that most noticed the explosion in sales was Nintendo Switch 2: 230% more than in the previous week, until staying a few dozen of the 30,000 consoles. Third place in the big boxes for Nintendo Switch 1, with 4,500 units. It is noted that the catalog still keeps the console stable, which has sold half as much as its new sister so far in 2025. Xbox Series is starting to feel like a threatened species, and only convinced 700 buyers this Black Friday.

In fact, the new platform to consider before Microsoft's is Meta Quest 3, with about 1,400 helmets sold these days. Virtual reality has fallen in love with users in these sales, because the usually discreet PS VR2 has risen to 1,200 units, thanks to a remarkable reduction at its usual price.
