I'm actually loving the long story/tutorials - gameplay is absolutely the focus but story is like icing on the cake.

I always find it unnerving when games have an hour long opening before you can make first save.
Though I'm rather thinking some old console games with that.

Yeah that pisses me off too, like I don't always have an hour plus to game non-stop without having to pause to exercise the dog or cook dinner or run to the shops or something, it still feels like a lot of games are designed for people who have a ton of spare time, and not everyone has that.
