I still need to make my graphics, but let me try to catch up by giving away a lot of easy hints.

#50 - The third entry of the series that brought several new plastic toys into your living room!
#49 - The first in a sci-fi trilogy that became a classic in gaming culture. I hear they're making another one...
#48 - Maybe the most popular game that plays like Smash Bros. without being Smash Bros.
#47 - The remake of the 1st game in a series due its next entry this December.
#46 - What if Zelda, but every character is a fox?
#45 - Apparently this "failure" sold 35 million units...
#44 - The remake of the 2nd game in a series due its next entry this December. (yes I am milking this hint now)
#43 - Chicken jockey.
#42 - The latest and greatest ink shooter  :)
#41 - If poker was as addictive as this, I'd have a serious gambling issue...
#40 - still alive.
#39 - The last 2D entry in a series that has been regularly criticized since its move to 3D.
#38 - Putting the "hero" in the hero shooter.
#37 - Still the latest entry in this trilogy that is very soon to get a 4th entry.
#36 - I swear this is nominated for "Best Community Support" literally every year at The Game Awards
#35 - Maybe the least popular game that plays like Smash Bros. and is Smash Bros.

Let me try to help you out.

49) Mass Effect
48) Rivals of Aether... 2?
45) Cyberpunk 2077
39) Sonic 3 (& Knuckles)? Not sure that's the last but that's the series that comes to mind
38) I'm gonna guess Marvel Rivals because, well, Rocket
36) Pretty sure that category never changes. No Man's Sky?
35) Smash Bros 4 Wii U

I'm not sure I'd call Rocket a "hero", but hey, you got that one right. Actually you got all of them right except for #39, so, your help is appreciated!

Gonna take the chance to throw some extra hints for those remaining two.

#43 - Chicken jockey.
Extra hint - Not only was the game a huge commercial success, its movie made a ton of money too.

#39 - The last 2D entry in a series that has been regularly criticized since its move to 3D.
Extra hint - The criticisms often revolve around the apparent lack of budget despite this franchise's enormous financial power.

#35: Doublekill!

  1. Flak Monkey
  2. Adrenaline!
  3. Double Domination and Assault

#34: In this game, you steer a character from the womb until college graduation.

  1. What you can learn depends on the stats you gain each year in the brain grid
  2. You meet several other children and students during your childhood, some of which you can make deep friendships (and more!) - but you can also be  bad to someone and have them end their friendship with you.
  3. The character you created grows up in the 80's, so activities like the arcade or board games are open and you can learn computer science in a computer club

#33: A post-apocalyptic game with a bit of silliness included

  1. Part of a long-running series
  2. The last mainline entry from it's original creators

#32: Your mission: To slowly terraform Mars into a habitable planet

  1. You are actually an AI who steers the terraforming effort, but after the early phase human scientists will move in and conduct research on your behalf.
  2. Along the game you come along some multiple choice questions that mold the behavior of the AI you are playing as

#31: Often called the black sheep of this action-adventure series from Nintendo

  1. It just got a very enhanced remake on PC that vastly enlarges the game.

#30: Your mission here is to build a specific kind of structure for a very specific kind of people.

#29: Capitalism, ho!

29: Recettear

Yepperoni, that's correct

Nope.

Some more clues. Not getting many guesses this year. I haven't sent my final list yet, so these are fair game for anyone and everyone

Current list - https://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=249858&page=1#6

40
- Obtaining the collectibles in this direct sequel is not quite as frustrating as the first game in the series.
- The playable character was something of a mascot at the time for the hardware manufacturer, with it being their first console.
- This game introduced the sister of the main character, who then became playable in the following game.

39
- In some regions, this game had the same title as two other games in this well known series. In other regions, it had a subtitle.
- This game was re-released for modern consoles in a collection with two others from the same series. All three were first released on the same piece of hardware.
- This was initially a whip cracking launch title for a popular handheld.

40: Banjo Tooie?

39: Castlevania II: Belmont's revenge?

Both are incorrect I'm afraid.

37
- This remake added a disturbing subplot to the game.
- This was the first of a number of remakes in this popular series.

36
- Crowdfunded spiritual successor to a major, long running franchise.

35
- Some fans of this game hope it gets a remake, much like some titles from the similar, more popular franchise from the same developer.

37) REmake?

36) Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night

35) Dino Crysis

Three out of three here - good job.

So I'm thinking this might be a Pokemon game, but I don't enough to know when the move to 3D happened. A quick mooch around the Internet suggests it might be Black + White 2?

Yup!

18 days later I have a list!

I'll quick fire my first 15 entries:

#50: Ori and the Will of the Wisps (PC) - Hauntingly beautiful Metroidvania with much improved combat over its predecessor

#49: Final Fantasy IV (SNES) - Redemption, fake deaths, love triangles and final showdown on the moon

#48: Mario Kart 64 (N64) - Battle mode excellence

#47: Tenchu: Stealth Assassins (PS1) - Ninja assassin fantasy at its best

#46: Xenoblade Chronicles 2 (Switch) - Great RPG despite the gatcha mechanics, so easy to sink hours into it

#45: Uncharted 2: Among Thieves (PS3) - Nathan Drake's best adventure

#44: Tekken Tag Tournament (PS2) - Tekken goodness with a fun twist

#43: Resident Evil 4 (Remake) (PS5) - Improves on some parts of the original, downgrades others but you can't go wrong with RE4

#42: Mega Man X4 (PS1) - You can finally play as Zero and he's so fun to play as!

#41: Resident Evil 2 (Remake) (PS4) - A very solid remake, modernizes the controls but keeps the feel of the original with distinct AB-BA scenarios, it could have surpassed the original

#40: Mario Kart: Double Dash (GC) - All-Cup 150cc is the way to go here

#39: Secret of Mana (SNES) - Great music, you can level up everything, magical game

#38: Sea of Stars (Switch) - Draws inspiration from RPG greats and succeeds in making its unique identity

#37: Resident Evil 2 (PS1) - My introduction to Resident Evil, played it to death, loved to different scenarios and speedrunning the game to unlock the unlimited bazooka.

#36: Chained Echoes (Switch) - Very well crafted RPG with fun mechanics and two battle systems

#35: Celeste (Switch) - Fantastic platformer with so much content, I'm still not finished with C-sides and Farewell.

Signature goes here!

Alright I'm back and should have better time to participate from here on out. Still behind on my games, but first some hints:

34) Alien on a chain

33) If the series had kept up the numbering this would be 1000

32) The DS visual novel puzzle game that isn't Layton or Phoenix

31) What they did to Mike this time was worse than the RPG

30) Synthetic piano music
