Forums - Gaming - Biggest franchises that are now dead

Just as great civilizations fall, sometimes game franchises that are massively popular and dominant fade away over time.

In your assessment, which is the once most successful/popular/dominant franchise that is now effectively a dead franchise?

Guitar Hero, probably?

Medal of Honor and Command & Conquer immediately come to mind.

The biggest for me though, although you could argue it technically isn’t as the franchise is still very readily available, but still feels dead, is StarCraft.

How would you classify game series that naturally ended like mother and uncharted? But my answer either way would be tomb raider or fable( I'll believe a new game is coming when I'm actually playing it, for now it's vapoware)

Yeah ones that concluded aren't what I meant, more ones that died out.

What is one of, if not THE most influential video game IP of all time has been long dead for quite a while - Ultima.

Star Fox had a brutal fall from grace, going from a flagship franchise to… well… Star Fox Assault and Star Fox Zero not even cracking 1mil. Same can be said to a lesser extent for F-Zero.
