Fastfood junk is not " resraurant food"

nah i went to a sit-down restraunt and got their waffle.

edit: I’m re-read the message (“nah i went…”) I just typed up… I should preface, all, that I only got three hours of sleep last night and two the night before lol. I am very delirious and not thinking straight.

I’m gonna go off on a tangent here: This morning way the first time in 4 months consuming more than 1g of added sugar in a given day (my body doesn’t digest such food very well). In particular, I went to a “healthy” restaurant and ordered their gluten-free, dairy-free waffle and honey, and…what on earth. (i) The food tastes too good to stop eating, and (ii) it makes you feel utterly terrible after consuming.

My brain is fried, all. This was a terrible idea lol. Food should be treated like medicine: it shouldn’t be consumed for the purpose of gratifying the passions of flesh, but to introduce essential nutrients into your body, so that you may function according to your best ability.

Now, if you don’t mind me, I have to run on a treadmill for the next hour to burn off this waffle. (My heart is pounding at like a million bpm, how do people live like this?? Going from kale and low fat cottage cheese to a waffle with syrup might just be the worst idea I’ve ever concieved.)

This reminds me of Stoicism.  Do you follow that btw?

I kind of agree.  It is worrying how bad modern day food is with all of the chemicals and plastics.  I've looked into this more and you start to see how alzheimers, obesity, etc result from these if one has too much microplastics and chemicals in their body.  It's further disheartening to realize how the people from big tobacco purchased fast food companies and have turned their attention to engineering foods that hit every kind of taste and yet are the worst thing you can put into your body.

I've recently gone vegan and eat simply.  Just stuff from the produce aisle and beans, chia seeds, and yeast.

Finally, i'll point to how the Flynn effect has peaked and apparently people are backsliding with their IQ now, and i beleive that this may be due to more microplastics in food, more chemicals, more fertilizer, obesity, etc.  It's all the same problem to me.

Ok, rant over, wish everyone here a good weekend

Sounds like you have a lot of food sensitivities and your body doesn’t react like the average person would. You can’t extrapolate that experience to the population as a whole. The fact that you found it so tasty tells me that you need to find a way to get more calories though.

So because YOUR body doesn’t digest such food very well, EVERY OTHER PERSON shouldn't be able/allowed to buy food in a restaurant?

Sorry, but you aren't the main player character.

If your body doesn’t digest such food and you know that... just don't eat it.

Restaurant food tastes so good because it's high in fats and salt, everything doused in butter.

It shouldn't be banned, but nutritional info should be part of the menu, just like it is on the food you buy in the shops. Some chains post nutrition info online, yet how accurate is it, and should it be on the menu instead?

Imagine you want to ban the number one place for people to meet each other for some nice conversations just because you can't really use it yourself... we can argue about fast food chains and if they shouldn't be allowed to have "kids meals" with some toys included and stuff like that because the reason why this exists should be obvious but banning "Restaurant food"? What?

you guys are taking this too seriously lol

Y’know, you raise a good question: Why is it that restaurants are the number one place people meet? I feel like the gov should fund more parks, libraries, and indoor recreational centers instead of subsidizing businesses who shove corn syrups all over their food. (Also, I believe we as a society need to move away from “meeting at a place where we can waste money on consuming more and more.”)

Because humans come together to eat since humanity exists. Pretty much why we love to sit on a fire together as well. It's in our blood since a very long time to have these moments together to feel good.

this is a very powerful philosophical statement you make

edit: I see you added more to your comment. I guess I’m more asking about why restaurants of all places, not why do humans meet in general. Like why not meet at the park? Or at a library? In an office? IDK.
