Which is your pick? And why is it Cartoon Network?

Cartoon Network 7 70.00%

Disney Channel 0 0%

Nickelodeon 3 30.00%

Total:10

Back in the 80s & early 90s it was whatever shows were on the networks on Saturday mornings and weekday afternoons, or running on Nickelodeon (which didn't have any original animation until the early 90s with the first Nicktoons) and USA's Cartoon Express (which was entirely older cartoons running in syndication). Speaking of Saturday morning cartoons, there's a fair amount of shows that are often remembered as airing on Saturday mornings, but looking back at old TV schedules many of those shows ran in syndication on weekdays. He-Man, G.I. Joe, and The Transformers are notable examples.

Cartoon Network didn't have any original programming until I was in high school. Dexter's Laboratory debuted when I was 16, and everything before that was old Hanna-Barbera cartoons, so I can't really say I grew with the Cartoon Cartoons. I mostly remember CN's early years as being "The Scooby Doo Network." However, CN did become my go-to place for watching cartoons starting in the late 90s. I kinda fell off of Nickelodeon after CatDog. The only 21st century shows on Nick I've watched are Invader Zim, TMNT 2012, and both Avatar series. But I stuck with CN well into adulthood, with Toonami being must-see TV for me in my late teens and well into my 20s, and CN Renaissance shows like Regular Show being highlights of my early 30s. After the CN Renaissance faded out and the network shifted into endless TTG reruns I kinda drifted away from it, and I ditched cable entirely at the start of this year.

I don't think the Disney Channel became a basic cable channel around here until some time in the mid 90s, so I can't say I grew up with it either, though my grandmother that lived a couple of hours away from us had it and I got to watch it occasionally during the few times we went to go see here. I distinctly remember seeing shows like Kids Incorporated and The Raccoons back in the late 80s or very early 90s.

I didn’t have cable growing up, so it was PBS Kids, Fox Kids, Kids WB, and ABC’s One Saturday Morning. Some of my favorites were

Clifford the Big Red Dog
Arthur
Magic School Bus
NASCAR Racers
Zoboomafoo (there were cartoon moments)
Dragon Tales
Jackie Chan Adventures
House of Mouse
Buzz Lightyear of Star Command
Recess
Pokemon
Digimon
Animaniacs
Batman Beyond
Static Shock

I’m sure there were more, but these were the most notable to me.

Boomerang was my go to. Think that was one of cartoon networks other channels but it mostly showed older stuff.

Tom and Jerry, Looney Tunes, Scooby Doo, Danger Mouse. These were my favourite cartoons.

First and foremost, Ed, Edd, n Eddy. It is the king of cartoons to me.
Chowder
Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends
Dexters Lab
Courage the Cowardly Dog
Rocko's Modern Life
Ren and Stimpy
Ahhhh! Real Monsters!
Spongebob
Fairly Oddparents
Sonic the Hedgehog
Sonic X

I'm a kid of the 90s (damn I'm getting old) so naturally I got into the original Nicktoons - Rugrats, Doug, Rocko's Modern Life, Ren and Stimpy, and later Hey Arnold, Kablam, CatDog, and Angry Beavers when those came out. I juuuust missed the boat on Spongebob by a year or so, as by the late 90s I was a bit too old for the Nicktoons thing and had moved onto Pokemon and early South Park (yes, I saw some pretty raunchy stuff as a kid you might say haha, my parents were and are pretty liberal and never gave much of af).

I also watched:

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Super Mario Brothers 3 and World
Dexter's Lab
Cow and Chicken
Bettlejuice
Alvin & the Chipmunks
Flintstones
Jetsons
Looney Tunes
Magic School Bus
Scooby Doo
Inspector Gadget
Cartoon Planet
Space Ghost - Coast to Coast

Yeah I was fully immsered in 90s culture you could say, from the TV shows to movies to video games, toys, etc..
