Err... I mean, maybe JBS likes ME as much as he likes SNK fighting games.

HAHAHA! EA cannibalized so many other studios over the years that EA finally became Orobouros. They cannibalized themself! The most fitting end for EA

The deal is partly funded by $20 Billion in debt, so the new owners are likely about the strip the publisher to the bone to cut costs.
Lot of people will likely lose their jobs, and studios possibly shut down.

I just hope they spin off studios rather than close them.
I.E. Spin off Bioware please. Let them be independent. Let them make the amazing games they we know that they can.

Welp, we're about to lose just as much in value with a number of great IPs and studios being tossed into the grinder to recuperate that debt than losing nothing because this is EA we're speaking here.
They'll likely keep their biggest sports games earners around whislt all their smaller earner studio will get the shaft, redirected to said big earners or simply die off.

Sadly, I think that ship has sailed, most of their best talent is long gone. Some even started studios and published games of their own. I wouldn't mind seeing the founding of a new studio housing old legends though, like a Bioware 2.0 with some of the current, somewhat decent, developers at Bioware joining them as well.
As for the deal itself, I think this might make EA even worse than they are today, and that's no small feat.

If anything they would probably try to sell underperforming studios first to get some return.

How is EA worth 50bn ? honest question.
If you spend that much buying them.... is it even possible to earn back that amount within say 20 years?
(do investors need to look like 50-100 years into the future for a payoff?)

Didn't they sell under 1.5m within the first 2 months? and come out and said, they had expected at least 50% higher sales in projections?
They said it "under preformed" and EA classified it as a financial failure.
Ei. they lost money making Dragon Age the veilguard.
Spinning it off (Bioware), the studio would be 1 game away from being closed.
Back in the day, they could make amasing games.
I'm just not sure that's true anymore, they fumbled so many resent games.
if Mass effect 5, turns out anything like ME Andromeda/DA The Veilguard, that could be the end of them.
