Europe is not as strong as most would want and can't project power we'll far beyond their borders. But Europe is not as weak as US thinks. Sure European countries are weak compared to US. Besides after US takes Danish soil they are more of a liability than an asset to have in Europe. Maybe they want Netherlands next for ASML.

Military wise Europe still has around 2.000.000 active troops and after the US by far the most advanced military gear. Lately France exports more weapons than Russia, so Industrial weapon capacity is not as bad as some think. Europe lacks in strategic long range weapons, but Sint Petersburg and Moscow are not that far from Finland, so in a defensive war with Russia that's not as much of a downside than other conflicts. When waging war with China that is another story.

After Ukraine Russia couldn't invade Europe if it wanted too, or it could say goodbye to it's second largest city. They struggle a lot in Ukraine at this moment with little support, mostly the military support is outdated equipment. The best Russia could do is maybe take the Baltics, at the direct cost of Kalingrad and Sint Petersburg. Nukes are out of the question because French and British forces can throw them as well.

Putin is already conducting hybrid warfare against EU and US is fine with that. US would lose a lot of strategic power if they lose European bases. They also lose access to the artic via Iceland, Finland and Norway. Also US lacks the ice cutters to dominate that area and Finland is building them.

Canada is defenceless against US, if US wants it nobody could stop them.

Anyways most likely US will not invade Greenland or Canada. Just saying that Europe is not as pathetic as a lot Non Europeans seem to think and that US has a lot to lose if it lost any form of friendly relationship with Europe. US intelligence still knows that so they will strongly advice against invading Greenland or Canada, because they might have more to lose than gain.

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar

Yeah, Europe (nor Canada) seems to care much about US (now openly) messing up South America.

Indeed far more to lose than to gain grabbing Greenland or invading Canada.

Once this move was made, there's little need to occupy Canada when it's completely surrounded. The clock starts ticking and it's the beginning of the end for Canada after this, and then only a matter of time. Based on how things have been going in Canada for a decade now, and still are, it wont take all that long either if this comes to pass.

Trumps been warning allies for long enough. Build up your economies and defense or else. The "or else", is eventually become American if you choose to ignore the warning. Then America will boost your economy and defense for you, since you'll be part of it.

It's not worth it if we have to live under that fascist pedophile who undid everything good his predecessors did. I better have plenty of blunt instruments around to protect my family from Adolf Tariff's troops.

Since the legal system won't get rid of Trump, we might as well kill the rotten old cockroach.

Canadian population would become extremely hostile to America if the US ever tried anything, see Ireland attacking Britain and stuff like that, it would also turn Europe completely against the US as well. There would be a massive internal resistance immediately and probably things like resistance/terror attacks/bombings/etc.

Trump will be gone in 3 years and likely won't even be alive in a decade. At this rate the Republicans will be routed in the mid-term elections next year too, dramatically reducing this administration's power.

Maybe they'll take Greenland as they won't get a huge amount of resistance, Trump is a massive narcissist and he knows he doesn't have much time left at his age, and he wants monuments for himself like every self serving narcissist.

The damage done to the US' reputation I don't think will ever be repaired though. No ally will ever trust them again, why would you, all it takes it one election cycle for some nut job to get elected and decide to throw any and all alliances in the gutter.

Here's hoping we don't have to wait even one year for him to finally die. Can't believe it's practically WWIII, only America is the enemy this time.

UK, Sweden, Australia, and I can't believe I'm saying Germany, please back us up against the land of the freeloader and home of the belligerent.

The NATO allies are pretty silent when called out about their lack of payment. Seems odd if Trumps just full of sh*t.

Not odd to me at all, he has been full of it his entire career (and I am not only talking the political one), and really, one just needs to look at the data, 23 of the 32 NATO members already invest more than 2 % of their GDP in their military, including Denmark. They have also not been silent about it, but Trump is good at manipulating the attention economy with his rampant lies and wacky statements.

This is a problem for people in the US.

Trump will eventually be gone, but the toxic brand of Christianity that put him in office has been a problem for over two centuries and will continue to be a problem.

Isn't 5% the new goal? I'm not sure what is going on these days.

UK is fully complicit, as usual
