Forums - Gaming - My mom's favourite games

Tagged games:

My parents aren't exactly gamers. My mom was born in 1970 and my father in 1964, and their first contact with games was in the 90s with my SNES. But my mom usually likes some gaming stuff.

Here I'll list some of the games she enjoys.

Super Mario World (SNES) - My first game. And she likes it too. Usually she plays one or two levels.

Donkey Kong Country Trilogy (SNES) -She really likes what she calls "The monkeys games". DKC2 is her favorite due to the soundtrack and the ghost forest levels, which she says are beautiful.

Raiden Trad (SNES) - She actually beated this game a lot of times with me. Always choosing the blue ship. Actually, she got some skills in this tile, like I said, we beat it together a lot, and sometimes she surpasses me in high scores.

Goof Troop (SNES) - Like Raiden Trad, we beated this game together a lot. Usually she plays as Goofy, but sometimes I think she enjoys throwing stuff at me more than beating the game itself.

Mario Kart 64 (N64) - After we got access to this title, it became a tradition after my school days. She ALWAYS plays as Toad, no matter what. She can beat me sometimes. We don't play this anymore after Mario Kart Wii.

Mario Kart Wii (Wii) - In this game, she also only plays as Toad. Her favorite tracks are Moo Moo Farm and Mushroom Gorge. A fun fact: For some reason, she only plays at the botton screen. If she plays at the upper screens, she can't focus. Curious.

Side Pocket (SNES) - My parents really like this game. A lot of laughs and cursing when we play it together. Some family discussions are always welcome.

Horizon Chase Turbo (PC) - A more recent game that got our family attention. We played a lot, until we got stuck at a particular track that nobody managed to beat. We also played Top Gear back in the days, so I think it helped.

Nice.

My mum's born in 1964, I was able to get her into Wii Sports and she used to really enjoy watching me play Kirby's Ghost Trap on the SNES cos of the colours and patterns.

She was also wowed by some of the graphics in modern games, since when she was growing up TV wasn't even in colour and video games hadn't been invented yet.

Shove It! The Warehouse Game.

Probably the only game my mother (born in 1965) loved and still fondly remembers lol.

My mom’s favorite games before she passed away were Skip-Bo, 1000 (a dice game), and I think that’s it. My dad also isn’t a gamer and wouldn’t even enjoy a game of cards very much. Any of you who get to play any type of game with your parent, you should consider yourselves pretty lucky. Certainly my age and the age of my parents had something to do with this (they were born in the 50s), but even getting them to play a board game when I was a kid was like pulling teeth.

Only thing I've really ever gotten my mom (1948) to play were some Arkanoid/Breakout clones.

I think my mom plays puzzle games on her phone. My dad don't bother with any games.
