So, the 3D All Stars Collection had 3 games that, despite not being the most improved ports in the world, had SOME effort into each one (some improved assets and textures on 64, 16:9 and touched up cutscenes in Sunshine, touched up custcenes and Wii controls adapted to the Switch 1 handheld mode...) + they all had to be ported over to the Switch. They sold that for 59,99... And at the time people thought it was already quite pricy.
And now they want to sell TWO games (one of them already ported to the Switch) for even MORE money? And it's the same price for both Switch 1 and Switch 2?
I'm truly not buying anything from Nintendo at launch anymore. What a way to go. From the cheapest company to buy games at launch to just the same crap everyone else is doing. Well, I wasn't taking crap from the others (I don't remember the last time I bought a new game from PS or Steam) and I'm not taking it from Nintendo either. They can keep their games. If I buy any of them, it will be second hand at the cheapest I possibly can.

$20 for DK DLC is enough for me to pass. It’s a good thing I haven’t finished the game yet. It’s upsetting to see Nintendo so aggressive in their pricing recently. $90 for the full DKBananza experience is too much to swallow. All late gen NS1 releases had no DLC and sold at $60.

I didn't watch it not having a Switch 2. It's cool Samus has a bike. I will get DQ7 on other consoles but I loved the 3DS version.

I think there was enough to be considered a good Direct, I think people forget about stuff like the 2015 E3 Direct, or a few other Wii U/3DS era Directs of yesteryear which were pretty barebones or filled with forgettable content. Pricing is trash, but welcome to 2025; economy is volatile, businesses want to make sure they have money to ride it out, and everything is expensive. If something hasn't had a price hike yet, it probably will in the next 6-12 months. I'd say its a B/B+
Last edited by Raven - on 12 September 2025It was a great Direct. I rate it 9/10.
The lineup is packed until May and anyone who was worried that Nintendo wouldn't be able to keep up the pace of first party releases moving from Switch 1 to Switch 2 can rest easily. I couldn't be bothered to read the reactions in the main thread, but it's probably business as usual with the people who are disappointed: That the one game they expected and that was an extreme long shot to be announced wasn't announced. Or that video games cost more money now. Or that a 60+ minute Direct had stretches that were uninteresting to them.
Legend11 correctly predicted that GTA IV will outsell Super Smash Bros. Brawl. I was wrong.

Business as usual with you too I see.

Make your case why it wasn't a good Direct, if you have one. Feel free to copy-paste your reasoning from another thread.

Whats the point? You are already fine with overpriced lazy DLC, 70 dollar Wii games, overall high prices and Switch 2 games that look like Switch games. You seem to be afraid of any sort of criticism towards Nintendo. Like your dick will fall of if you dare to question anything they do. Just buy whatever they spit out at you and leave the rest of us alone to be disappointed once in a while.
