Forums - Nintendo - Resident Evil 9 Requiem Is Apparently Coming To Switch 2 (And PS4)

btw the Switch has a little bit less power than Series S so I guess It will run just fine I mean RE Games with RE engine work just fine on Series S

Street Fighter 6 and Kunitsu-gami: Path of the Goddess are RE Engine titles and already run just fine on Switch 2.

The engine is pretty scalable, even MH Rise on Switch 1 managed to look pretty good on it.

This coversation is weird. We all seem to understand that Nintendo fucked up with the N64 and lost a lot of third parties because of their expensive cartridges vs CDs. They are doing the same thing now, but this time its the third parties fault? I dont get it.

Unpopular opinion, but the site is exceptionally Pro Nintendo at the moment.  It has a "say something nice or don't say anything at all" feel as it relates to Nintendo.

It's not really being "Pro Nintendo" to point out that using a game key card is the publisher's decision and that there is no easy solution to the problem of physical media for a modern portable device. That's just stating reality.

Smaller carts would help for smaller games.  There are things Nintendo could have done better.

In theory yes, but the fact that smaller carts aren't available would suggest that there is some kind of obstacle there. I do hope we see them made available in the future, but the reality is that even if you offer say a 32GB or a 16GB card, some publishers are still just gonna pass on them to minimise costs.

All good and well but I will pass as it will be a game key card game, like all those others.

Nintendo needs to crack down on this bullshit, because these game key cards aren't even any cheaper than Nintendo's full game carts. Borderlands 4 is the same as a full game on a cart, so what is the excuse for 2K and other 3rd parties not using them now if they going to charge the same price?

Because Switch 2 game cards are expensive and third parties want to maximise their profit margin.

If Nintendo said "okay, no more game key cards" then you'd just be getting digital-only releases or a code in a box instead.

....  the first sentence is exactly my point from earlier.  It comes off as protective and as an excuse.

If I have a 11 gb game, I wouldn't want to pay for a 64 gb cart.

It is Nintendo's job to fix obstacles.

Personally I think GKC are the worst of both worlds and Nintendo should shit can the entire concept.

It's not an excuse; there is obviously some reason why it is the way it is, and as long as we have no idea of the details, we can't say for sure who is to blame. Maybe the manufacturer just doesn't offer anything smaller, for instance, and there's no other economical option.

Exactly they want the bigger margin, not some f the excuses we herd we want to save people money. If that was true those games should be $30 aud cheaper
