Smaller carts would help for smaller games.  There are things Nintendo could have done better.  

In theory yes, but the fact that smaller carts aren't available would suggest that there is some kind of obstacle there. I do hope we see them made available in the future, but the reality is that even if you offer say a 32GB or a 16GB card, some publishers are still just gonna pass on them to minimise costs.
