Forums - Gaming - MGS3 Delta performance issues

It somehow looks worse on PS5 Pro than it does on Base PS5 in Performance mode. And for the most part it runs worse on PS5 Pro as well.
Looks worse and runs worse. Makes no sense.

"The entire issue with the PS5 Pro PSSR implementation here is that for some reason, a choice was made to have the game render at a sub-720p resolution than upscale from there Resulting in the stationary image looking blurrier than base PS5. It also runs at much worse framerates."

Capped at 60fps on PC. Can't go higher.

~Edit~

These tests were done without a Day One patch, so things may be better on the actual release day.

Oh dear. A shame, I was looking forwards to this one. Hope it can be fixed.

Ps5 pro with pssr does clearly look sharper in motion however as with most games that use pssr. That's one thing i don't understand about digital foundry and it's really been coming to a head often recently. They focus so much on the still shots and downplay all situations involving motion. as if they think games are meant to be played in the form of slide shows. Both Oli and Tom have done this with multiple games now and I don't get it.

I'm not planning on buying it, because I've never been a fan of the Metal Gear games, but the graphics and fps aren't a deal breaker to me.

Another UE5 game with issues

Unreal Engine kinda reminda me of The PS3. I heard from people who know a thing or two about tech that the engine itself is fine when you know how to use it. But most devs nowadays don't seem to know how to properly use the engine. So maybe they should stop using it.

PS3 was fine when devs knew how to handle the machine. Like with all the great Naughty Dog Games. But most devs just couldn't handle it, apparently.

Whatever, gonna skip this one.

In a lot of cases if the devs weren't using ue5 most likely the games wouldn't have come out at all. UE5 has allowed a lot of minimum effort products to reach a technically shipable state. It's a case of it being a little too accessible.

Capped 60fps on PC. Hard capping the framerate on PC is never a good sign.
