I wasn't expecting hardware to be slightly up YoY so this is a good quarter. It was still 0.7m behind the PS4 so the gains in the last two quarters were almost completely wiped out and it'll likely be further behind by the end of this fiscal year but there's a good opportunity for it to reduce the gap in the next one with GTA 6 though a potential price increase due to tariffs could prevent that from happening. I wonder if they're waiting till after this year to do that.

Sony needs a big showcase showing all of its upcoming games, it seems that Sony's studios are dead.

They are not dead, most of them probably have had cancelled live service titles in development. That was the case for both Bent, Bluepoint and ND. Which is why they haven't released something in a while and won't do so for a while. Insomniac and Guerilla also had some live service titles in the pipeline of their respective franchise, but are likely cancelled. As for Santa Monica that's a one game/gen studio. Housemarque and Sucker Punch will deliver the next big SP games in 2025/2026

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar

Good sales but in terms of exclusives this is the worst PlayStation by far.

I am waiting for some sort of announcement but I have a hunch that GT7 might be Sony's highest earning title ever by revenue (if not one its bestselling games ever).

I wouldn't put it past GT7 to generate over 1B in revenue in unit sales. But I would wager SM2 or HD2 as Sony's highest grossing title ever.

One of the best Q1's ever for Sony/PlayStation.

Making over 1B+ in profit in a non holiday quarter is ridiculous. Over 40% of revenue for Sony's first party came in the form of live service, which Sony listed as MLB, Destiny 2, Helldivers 2 and Gran Turismo 7.

On Playstation, I think it's still behind God of War Ragnarok at the moment, and may never beat it.

Since it has no PC port, it'll likely end up placing 5th at best among Sony's titles, behind Fate Grand Order ($8 billion~ and counting lol), Helldivers 2 (potential to pass $2 billion eventually), God of War Ragnarok, and Spider-Man 2. If a PC port is made, it should place 3rd only behind FGO and Helldivers 2. I'm not counting Destiny because most sales happened before the acquisition.

But Gran Turismo is back baby! GT7 is my favorite PS5 Sony game, phenomenal in VR + racing wheel.

90M by the end of the year so... pretty much guaranteed unless something REALLY bad happens.

I own one, and I like it but man... this has to be the quietest console to sell 80 million units in history lol.

Sony needs to have a big PlayStation showcase in September. We don't know anything, not even what the next game is after Ghost of Yotei.
