The majority of Switch's first party output was new games; BOTW, TOTK, Mario Odyssey, Mario Bros Wonder, Smash Bros Ultimate, Metroid Dread, Splatoon 2 and 3, Xenoblade 2 and 3, Kirby and the Forgotten Land, Kirby Star Allies, Zelda Echoes of Wisdom, Super Mario Party and Jamboree, Fire Emblem Three Houses and Engage, Paper Mario the Origami King, Animal Crossing, Bayonetta 3, Astral Chain, ARMS, Pikmin 4, Yoshi's Crafted World, Luigi's Mansion 3, Mario Maker 2, Hyrule Warriors Age of Calamity, Mario Kart Live, Ring Fit Adventure, Switch Sports, Princess Peach Showtime, Mario and Luigi Brothership...

That's one of the strongest first party lineups of all time even without counting ports/remasters.

Botw is a wiiu game.

Astral chain  made by nintendo? (Thought it whas a atlus game but i can be wrong)

Its a good list as i said before switch is one of the greatest in terms of first party exclusives there is noo doubt about it.

But ps2 had more and more divere lineup.

Xenoblade2 whas amazing thou i bought a switch for that.

BOTW launched day and date on both Switch 1 and Wii U as a crossgen title, same as say God of War Ragnarök or Horizon Forbidden West on PS5.

Astral Chain was co-developed by Platinum and Nintendo and published by Nintendo.

"More and more diverse" is also debatable as Switch has one of the biggest libraries of any console ever.

Ow okej i understand, besides the crossgenn stuff, its  not a switch game.

How many ps2 games from sony where cross genn or ports on ps2?

Tbh its not debatable.

How much % are mario games or pokemon games?

Okej i will put the list again.

6 ratchet and clank games. (2port)

5 jak and daxter game (1port)

4 socom games

2 arc the lad games

2 ape escape games(not including the eye toy stuff

3 eye toy play games

Eye toy

4 gt games

2 dark cloud games

Shadow of the collosus

Ico

2 forbidden siren games

Ghosthunter

2 twisted metal games

4 wild arms games

2 god of war games

Killzone

2 champions of norrath games

1 or 2 hot shot golf games

Hardware arena (loved that game)

2 or 3 WRC games(if iam correct the ip whas from sony back them

And prob a phew more(including japan only)

Now go and tell me nintendo did more and more diverse.

Iam not trying to bash nintendo(switch) as i said many times for years now the switch is a amazing console/system/hybrid i predicted it would become massive in japan years ago ans its game output is fantastic!! I wish sony would be more like ninty.

but i find it funny some on here are trying to downplay the ps2.

Yea its a product of its time, and soo is the switch, and you know what i'll go and add fuel to the fire.

In 20 years time i have a verry got shot my ps2 still works, and soo will 99% of games

In 20 years time how many switches will still work? How many games are playable without the internet?

Switch is a product of it's time, a verry bad patch/dlc/microtransactions/ online required/ code in a box time.

A verry limited time.

You just contradicted yourself. You try to put down Switch because it might have a few Mario games then list games that had several entries. So if you are saying Nintendo is guilty if Milking then you just proved so is Sony. You're too busy trying to argue your opinion as some fact and gatekeeping to do it all while sounding drunk.

Side note. List wars are fucking stupid. It's the dumbest way to say one is better than another because people's tastes are subjective. I'd take Astral Chain any day over any GoW game. TBH I think they're trash. You know what was cool tho? Mark of Kri. You know what else is cool? ARMS. Xenosaga was cool, but so is Xenoblade. PS2 is loaded with ports but so what? A library is a library. PS2 has SMT Nocturne but so does Switch. Guess what PS2 doesn't have Ikaruga. Switch does. Uh oh! Tho PS2 has Gradius V and Switch does not. It's all subjective.

Ps2 is loaded with ports made or owned ips from sony?

Which one?

If its a ps2 era vs switch era then verry sorry games that where made on the ps2 and ported to the switch doesnt count as a " switch game"

Its a ps2 games ported to the switch.

And as i have been saying, not downplaying the switch, thats maybe how you see it but thats not my intention.

I guess i just love my ps2 to much and don't like it when people try to downplay it as " its just a product of its time it whas never that good"

BOTW released on the same day on both Wii U and Switch. It's a Switch game. The vast majority of people played it on Switch. If you want to rule out games that were available across multiple platforms, then PS2 loses the bulk of its significant games too as most of them were on Xbox, Gamecube, Dreamcast, or PC.

Switch had literally dozens of first party games that are not Mario or Pokémon; I literally already showed you, and they range from RPGs to platformers to action-adventure to sports games to fighters to shooters to hack 'n' slash to strategy to metroidvania to life sim and more.

Which first party game whas on gamecubs/xbox?

That what we where talking about right?

First party/owned ip's

If we where talking about third party games then switch dont even come close to the ps2 third party exclusives output, you be lying if you would say it does.

And i dont agree, its a wiiu game that also on the switch, it whas announced for the wiiu, bit because of delays after delays they decided the also release it on the new upcoming switch.

Like gow ragnarok and horizon forbidden west are ps4 games also on the ps5, they are not ps5 era games.

The last part alright i see your point and i cant say anything else but agree.

Before this goes out of control to be a fanboy war that i didnt mean to, let's agree noo matter what happens both ps2 and switch will be remembered as 2 legendary consoles of our time.

My favourite original PS2 games off the top of my head:

Shadow of the Colossus, ICO, GT3 and 4, Forbidden Siren, Jak 1,2,3, MGS2 and 3, Silent Hill 2 and 3, Shadow of Destiny, Zone of the Enders 2, Ring of Red, FFX and 12, DMC1 and 3, Onimusha 1,2 and 3, Okami, RE Outbreak File 1 and 2, RE4, Haunting Ground, Clock Tower 3, Tekken Tag and 5, Ace Combat 4, Time Crisis 2, Persona 3 (played portable), NFS Hot Pursuit 2, GTA3, Vice City, and San Andreas.

8 of these were ported to other platforms within the same generation, one of them was ported from another console (RE4). The majority of PS2's beloved original games were exclusive, a few timed exclusives, the rest multiplatform. It's an era where the best original/new games were more often than not exclusive.

I didn't particularly enjoy many favorites like Ratchet (only played the first game), Sly (same), God of War, and missed out on or barely played countless others (Xenosaga, Shadow Hearts, most Sony JRPGs, Ape Escape, Wipeout, Everybody's Golf, Syphon Filter, SOCOM, Virtua Fighter, Nightshade, Grandia, Klonoa, Katamari, Gradius V, Maximo, PS2 Suikoden, Breath of Fire, Front Mission, Valkyrie Profile, Armoured Core, Kuon, Rule of Rose, all SMT's barring P3, Baldur's Gate DA, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater,TimeSplitters, etc).

BOTW is technically a Switch game though:

That's how it's going to be remembered by most as less than 2 million of its 32 million plus buyers played on Wii U. (I was one of them)

Switch is only not done yet; it's library is continuing to grow, with titles like Metroid Prime 4, Pokémon Legends Z-A, Tomodachi Life, Rhythm Heaven, Hades II, Professor Layton, Sonic Racing Crossworlds, etc still on the way.

Happy to just agree to disagree though if you want, to each their own.

If botw is a switch game then the 3d gta series on ps2 are ps2 games even though they were only timed exclusives. Nothing on the switch matched gta3 cultural and gaming landscape impact. Gta3 redefined open world gaming
