Nintendo doesn't need Gore Tits Assholes VI on Switch 2 for it to survive, it just needs a big library of quality games.

Gore Tits Assholes is the name of my band! How dare you!

I heard your latest album and it sucked!! *vomits all over said album*

Every console that had GTA5 playable on it has sold worse than the Switch. So, no.

Hardstuck Platinum is also feeling like Switch 2 will not be a major success, so there's another indicator that it's gonna sell well.

So it will sell well because someone said it won't?

We have the first Switch as a living proof that AAA third party support is not as important for the Switch 2 success as some people might think, but sure, it's going to do badly because it won't play GTA 6.

No it wouldn't have. It would've sold some Wii U's but almost everyone would've just played it on the PS3 or 360 that they already owned or later on got it for the PS4, Xbox One or PC. Do you think GTA 6 is far more valuable than Mario, Zelda, Animal Crossing, Splatoon and Smash Bros and the rest of Nintendo's franchises combined? Cause if the PS5 can survive without all of those with no issue the Switch 2 obviously doesn't need a single game when it has all of that and a lot of third party support.

Also you don't need to be a Nintendo fan to recognize that the Switch 2 is in a good position, just simple analysis is enough to figure that out.

It's not in a good position though. The only big AAA third party game it's getting that wasn't on PS4/Xbone is Borderlands 4 I think, and that's worrying. Why is there no Dragon age Veilguard, dragons dogma 2, monster hunter wilds etc?

Also, Yes GTA 6 is more important than all of those first party Switch 2 games, because you don't need to buy a Switch 2 to play those franchises. Of course you'll need one to play the newest versions, but I think most people will just stick with their old Switch to play them. That's the feeling I'm getting from the reception to Switch 2. With GTA 6, I'm seeing a major urgency to get it. they drop a trailer and it breaks records in terms of viewership. I've never seen anything like this before in media entertainment.

It's also gonna get Star Wars Outlaws this year and the other two parts of the FF7 Remake trilogy are strongly implied to be planned for it. With how much stuff has been cross-gen it doesn't make sense to discount those games since it clearly matters that stuff like SF6 is coming to it and it's gonna have a much better start third party wise than the Switch so I guess that was in an even worse position by your logic.

And for the bolded come on man that's absurd. The Mario franchise alone is bigger than the entire GTA franchise and it's not close. The number of Mario games sold on Switch is higher than how much GTA V has sold and that's just one single platform while GTA V has been on a lot. Mario Kart World will sell a lot of systems like how the next 3D Mario will and that's just two out of countless Mario games it'll get. Add all the other series I mentioned and it's not even in the same universe in terms of impact.

I know it sounds crazy but Nintendo's first party franchises did not save the N64, Gamecube and Wii-U so I don't understand why everyone is acting like it's a recipe for guaranteed success. I'm not being a hater and I hope I'm wrong, but everyone on here is underestimating how hard it is to get people to part with their money without presenting them with something new and exciting. Also, this is also the most expensive system Nintendo has ever released.

No one bats a 1000. Just Hardstruck is 0-221 as of this post. So safe to say Switch 2 will be a success.

The difference is while those platforms had trouble Nintendo still had the GB, GBA/DS and 3DS at the same time with only the latter of those not being a huge success. Nintendo games have always been a gigantic draw, even when they were floundering during the Wii U and 3DS days those two platforms still sold just under 90m combined mostly thanks to those games and the Switch 2 is clearly in a better spot than the 3DS was at launch cause people won't have to wait over half a year for its first huge game.

Mario 3D Land followed by Mario Kart 7 the next month was when the 3DS really started hitting its stride and the Switch is getting its own Mario Kart game at launch with a significant 3D platformer the very next month. Almost everyone thinks it'll sell worse than the Switch 1 but there's every reason to think it'll still do really well. For the pricing it could hurt some sure but people had these same concerns with the price of the Switch but it turned out just fine.

From what I heard the Switch 2 will get Calladooty. And you will be able to play it in the go. How about that? Sure, it might not be as huge as GTA. But it at least gets more releases than one every one and a half decade.

That said, the Switch 2 doesn't need any of that to survive if you ask me. =P

Something went wrong here. You need the [Switch 2] to play [Mario and Zelda sequels], but people “will just stick to their old Switch [1] to play them”. How again are people gonna play something on a device that doesn’t have it?
