Digital foundry have now analysed the trailer:
- Captured on a standard PS5, not a Pro.
- Most if not all shots are being rendered in real time.
- Footage in trailer is letterboxed, running at 2560x1152 resolution.
- Uses some form of upscaling. Looks like spatial upscaling (FSR1).
- Ray Tracing Global Illumination
- Ray Traced Reflections
- Speculate it's too big for Switch 2, they don't expect the ROG Ally X or Steam Deck will be able to run it either.
It looks like Rockstar are going to do what they did with RDR2 again, a game that made you wonder how the hell it ran looking like that on a console that's 5+ years old.
If the game really is using something akin to FSR1 for the standard PS5, and this isn't changed by launch, then PS5 Pro boost in image quality could be huge with PSSR support.
