I dont make much threads here these days but I got an inspiration from another discussion elsewhere and decided especially how the world is now going.

How is everyone doing? In life in general.

Are things better now (aside from whats happening in the world) personally with you? How is it compared to say the last 15 years?

----

I'd say my life is indeed better than what it was over a decade ago or so. Though its been a bit rough since last year, it had its highlights and great moments which make up for all the bad that happened.

2010: 1 out of 10 - no education, no job, no family (aside from parents), felt like I was stuck with no direction

2011: 3 out of 10 - started going to school (IT), late start

2012: 4 out of 10 - still recovering from the slog I was in from 2007 to 2011

2013: 5 out of 10 - started first job in 4 years, part time

2014: 5 out of 10 - started looking around to buy a home (planning ahead despite not having the money)

2015: 5 out of 10 - graduated from college, bachelor's

2016: 6 out of 10 - got married and got my first job in IT

2017: 6 out of 10 - started building my financial profile (planning out what to do in the next 10 years)

2018: 7 out of 10 - bought a house, accumulated...$40,000 debt from buying new furniture

2019: 7 out of 10 - lost 25 pounds

2020: 7 out of 10 - lost another 25 pounds

2021: 8 out of 10 - student loans paid off and paid off the $40,000 debt, finally not in the red

2022: 9 out of 10 - beginning of "My Golden era", bought a car, traveled to india with my wife together for the first time

2023: 10 out of 10 - peak financial status, traveled to the UK and France for the first time, paid for my mom's visit to India - first time she went alone, got the best news I wanted in a long time (pregnancy)

2024: 7 out of 10 - Father passed/funeral costs were up at $20,000, Daughter was born, home foundation repair which cost about $35,000 but was paid by home builder thankfully. Gained weight from all the stress....this honestly would have made it 3 out of 10 but my daughter made up for it.

2025: So far 8 out of 10 - Went to India and baptized our daughter, introduced to family. Now..I'm recovering from all the travel from 2022 to now. Money isnt tight but at the same time it isnt what it was in 2022/2023 but once I pay off everything which I'm expecting it to be at October of this year - I'll be building up again. Lost about 5 pounds in two weeks, on the road to recovery.

I'm in the greatest spot in my life now than I've ever been. Incredibly healthy relationship, we have a cozy, quaint, little home, I mean, consoles, two monster PCs in the living room, so many comics, and things I've kept and collected over the years, and still collecting, great friends, amazing family from mine and my partners side, hell, I'm stable enough to be able to afford going to Robert E. Howard Days in Texas this June, which is 18 hours away, I am very grateful for everything.

Doing ok, I guess. Had most things been more affordable for me in my economic situation it'd be better.

Probably the worst I've ever been. Well, I suppose I felt worse in some moments over the past few months, but it's just fluctuating mood changes amidst a long-running depression. I'm a failure at life and feel lost every day. Everything I've tried to do, everything I tried getting involved in, pretty much everything crumbled. So in the end I'm just here. Existing, I guess.

*sends biggest hug possible* Did that help? I can do it again if you need me to.

Dont give up - I had the same feeling too years ago. There's always light at the end of the tunnel.

You just have to keep going till you reach it. :)

Yeah, I hope so. The longer this goes on, the more that hope falters, but hopefully this is all leading somewhere nice. I like to believe everyone can work towards a place of happiness like you have Basil, but I don't know. Everyone wants a happy life but not everyone finds it.

In any case, thanks, you two.

But the the more of us keep going now the better tomorrow will be. And you're more than welcome. ^^

I don't want to die but if I went to sleep and didn't wake up. I'm ok with that. I feel hollow. Scared. Exhausted.
