Forums - Movies & TV - Snow White live action remake flops at the box office

Forced political nonsense into entertainment while the lead pulled a Hilliary and insulted 50% of the population. Lol, people are dumb. If it wasn't clear before, it should be now, people don't want politics forced down their throat when they are relaxing from a hard day's work and want to be entertained.

I feel like with the budget Snow White was resigned to flop no matter what. But some of the story choices, marketing, and Rachel Zegler and Gal Gadot cemented the flop.
I wish the live-action remake (and photorealistic with The Lion King) plague would end already. But there are still some in development.

I didn't much attention to it, so the political stuff didn't bother me. The movie just looked bad from the trailers, so when it flopped I wasn't surprised. Disney has been all over the place the last few years with some of the biggest movies in history followed by some of the biggest flops ever.

This is what happen when you have dumb people play main characters and give them freedom to go to talk shows and social media and say what they actually think.
And since its Disney i am rly surprised they didnt forbid Zegler to go to shows and write on social media after that terrible and cringe as f. "weird-weird" interview. That interview alone made sure that Snow White crap will fail.

Disney has had plenty of down periods financially and artistically. They are a studio and company full of that over time.

Right now they are in a weird hybrid spot of a ton of money from how big they are in parks, merchandise, film, tv, etc but also they have some huge flops and a lot of products that are considered meh to bad.

The peak of the company in all metrics (other than perhaps sheer revenue or profit) was around 1989-1999. Basically, the Disney Renaissance, expansion of parks, Pixar's early films, entertaining television, Disney Store expansion, start of the Disney Cruise Beauty and the Beast and The Lion King on stage, etc.

Eisner had a lot of negative qualities, especially 2000-2005. But he, the other leaders, and everyone under them put out some incredible stuff.

The Parks almost make money than their TV & Movie segments.
If they have a "bad" year with movies, it is the parks that keep them afloat.

Which is also why they can't allow tourism and ticket sales to drop too much.
They need the parks doing well (some years it's all they have giving them profits).
