I see. Disappointing, but at least we can play as Cow.

The real question is what happens when the Cow eats a Hamburger?

99% chance it does the same thing that happens when any of the other characters eats one.

my take on the direct:
I was kinda let down, I expected something bigger I guess.
The unlockable outfits, the single player mission runs/trails.... meh.
The kid friendly auto-item and stay on track option.... okay I guess.
I like the hammer toss though :) that looked like fun atleast.

It just feels like a near 1for1 with the last mario kart.
The idea of these long races, going through a world where you do tracks and then drive to the next track, doesn't really do much for me.

But I heard not all characters will get costumes.

Yeah that's something else that's underwhelming for me. Sure it's funny random ass characters, but at the very least include all characters from previous games as a starting point.

From what I can see, not even other crossover characters like Link or Isabelle are in World.

Here's to hoping they either just haven't shown them off yet or will be part of free DLC.

I have the opposite reaction, I quite like that they doubled down on the Mario universe for Mario Kart World and did not turn it into a Nintendo Kart, for that we already have Super Smash Bros.

I’m with you. It was fun to play as Link and Inkling Boy in Mario Kart 8, but I like that the roster is focused on Super Mario heroes, sidekicks, villains, minions, and background characters. I’m irrationally excited about Cow

But it should still have more Donkey Kong characters. They're essentially Mario characters too.

They are not? Only DK appeared in Mario mainline games

Well then by that logic we might as well get rid of every character and track that came from a Mario spin-off.

I feel you there for sure! But at the same time, if Nintendo is going to try to ask everyone for more money, you would think they would at least keep any previous characters in the game. How can you charge more but release with less overall content?

That's what I've been saying!!

Bc that is not how you build antecipation.

If they showed everything by now, most of the people would feel satisfied by having all their curiosities being answered and when the game is ready, the excitment is already gone bc another exciting new thing have grabed their attention. You need to hold all the juicy content to the last minute with an epic release trailer and let chaos do the rest.

To make more clear this is not for us fans, this is for the general audience

The same general audience who shouldn't have to pay more for a new game that has less content than it's predecessor. So far I'm not seeing as much content as Mario Kart 8 DX.

Thats right!! You tell them!! No more money from us Nintendo!! Lets go get our pitchforks! No Diddy No Peace!

Oh no! They nerfed the lightning!! More content being take away from us!! How could they do that??? They deserve to fail!!!
