They literally took away the only benefit of digital games, convenience. Why would I want to have to load and eject freaking digital games and move between both systems instead of simply having access to all my digital games instantly?

The game icons as cartdriges are the only cool thing, but this is beyond ridiculous, wtf.

Its just a desperate move to try and get physical game collectors on board with an all digital future.

WE WILL NEVER YIELD!!!

You should really check out Rhythm Heaven if you havent. They are so charming and incredibly fun. Hopefully they will have a demo for people to try it.

Will do. I've been wanting to jump into more Music based games.

Its more of a lending service/ability at least from what I see for those who are in your Nintendo family plan.

Not gonna use it since I just easily just re-download my entire library or whatever games I want to download between my Switch and Switch OLED.

Yeah digital cards are such a useless feature

Steam let's you share your games with friends, just need to allow it

If you have two switches you now need to choose which one you're "inserting" your digital game on? And worse it apparently needs internet connection?

Edit: Also the sharing expires in 14 days, it's annoying needing to share again and again

Edit 2: Also, currently you can run a game twice if you have two switches, one primary and one secondary. With this I think they want to put some kind of DRM to tie your current digital game to a single console. I can imagine the implications wether you lost/break/get stolen, simply bothersome to recover your digital games again

If you want my two cents

I don't think so

More likely Switch  2 is coming and people will have now two devices to play the same game, so they want to prevent people from doing it

So instead of giving you Switch 1 to your cousins or siblings with a huge library of digital games while keeping the same games on Switch 2, Nintendo wants your Switch 1 to just become obsolete. You can still give it as a gift, but the new owner with need to buy all their library again

Yeah, thats a good point. Both can be true I guess.

And that's the final nail in the coffin for Prime 2 and 3 in any form. If they were going to have so much as basic ports they would have announced it right before or right after the Prime 4 footage.

Decent amount of games, even if the only 1s that interest me are Prime 4 and the Dragon Quest remakes. Those are gorgeous. But I've already got a lifetime's worth of Switch games to get through so I ddidn't need this direct to cater to me.

About the digital game sharing: can we still use the system of primary/secondary consoles, whereby the secondary console plays the user’s digital library, as long as there’s an internet connection to verify the game isn’t in use on the primary console? Because I imagine that’s actually less laborious than this proposed system.

The ability to lend my digital games to friends/family is great actually — my wife no longer needs to pay for a copy of a game I already own, for instance — but this seems like a chore when it comes to swapping back and forth between my own systems.

Rhythm heaven Groove , i won

Deeply disappointed no Prime 2 and 3.
Pretty much the only thing I cared about in that Direct was Prime 4, but I really thought they'd announce Prime 2 and 3 being released today.

The virtual game card thing sounds cool, lending and whatnot. Though from the comments on here maybe it is a restriction in some ways? I assumed if you had two Swtiches you could only have your games on one system, thus this virtual game card thing would be an improvement, that's how they made it seem in the video (this being a solution for digital games), but by the amount of complaining comments on here I'm guessing you could already play your games on more than one system assuming you're using the same account? So sounds like virtual game cards are in some ways restricting things while also adding nice things as well specifically the lending to shared NSO account members.
