What is everyone's take and expectation on this wording on physical copies of Nintendo Switch 2 Edition games?

'The Nintendo Switch 2 Edition comprises the Nintendo Switch game and Nintendo Switch 2 Edition Upgrade pack. The upgrade pack is also available separately.'

1) The game and upgrade pack are all together on a Nintendo Switch 2 red cart; or

2) The game is the Nintendo Switch black cart and you get a download code for the Upgrade pack

3) Why would they add the also write the last sentence on the box, available separately if it wasn't option 1 but 2?

Are you expecting it to be a Switch 2 fast new red cart with the full content on it?

It's option 1.

The separate availability refers to three options you have to get only the upgrade pack when you've already bought the Switch 1 version of any given game digitally or physically. These are the eShop, the My Nintendo Store and brick and mortar retailers. In the latter case it's pretty safe to assume that it will be a download code.

Legend11 correctly predicted that GTA IV will outsell Super Smash Bros. Brawl. I was wrong.

https://www.nintendo.com/us/gaming-systems/switch-2/featured-games/switch-2-edition/

"The Nintendo Switch™ 2 Edition of a game is a bundle that includes the original game and its upgrade pack, which enhances the game to take advantage of the capabilities of the Nintendo Switch 2 system. Available only for select games."...

..."Features and content of a Nintendo Switch 2 Edition game can only be played on Nintendo Switch 2."

If it included a download for the upgrade pack or a mandatory install I assume they'd tell us somewhere. Also the fact that Switch 2 Edition can only be played on a Switch 2 leads me to believe it must be the red cart. I'm not completely confident though so it's worth keeping an eye on.

When including 3rd party games, is this the largest launch line-up ever for a console?

...to avoid getting banned for inactivity, I may have to resort to comments that are of a lower overall quality and or beneath my moral standards.

If the game was released years prior then of course it doesn't count as a new game, Like MK8 Ultimate and Smash Utlimate. Same game, some few extra features, not a new game. But a game coming out day in day out on both consoles, come on.

Metroid Prime 4 is a new game, no question about it don't care who says otherwise.

Who said anything about them being new releases? I said notable, as in games that sell well or move hardware.

In honestly don't know what the hell you're talking about at this point. Give examples instead of spouting generalities.

Has there been any sighting of physical versions costing $10 more in any other region?

I’m not sure what is confusing you? This is the convo from the beginning:

Me: people who are saying Switch 2 lacks big 1st party games are discounting Metroid/Pokemon, they are cross-gen and absolutely major releases.

Zippy: the same thing happened on PS5, people discounted cross-gen releases.

Me: similar thing happened on Switch 1, people acted like Wii U ports weren’t notable releases.

You: old ports don’t count as new games

Me: I didn’t say ports were new games, I said they were notable releases (sell well/move hardware)

You: what the hell are you talking about? Give examples

Which part of what I said is confusing?

It's the same in the UK. USA MKW is $80 on Walmart for a physical copy. Unsure if digital MKW is $70 or not as it's not listed anywhere. That digital is cheaper in the US like other regions is just an assumption.

Unfortunately , I thought this was a pretty mid presentation, aside from the strange tech issues they had.

I think the hardare is quite nice and well thought out. An impovement over the current Switch. However, the C button part of the presentation felt very outdated. Not sure if it's a hardware limitation, or just older software, but both the showing of other's gameplay and the low quality cameras were not great to see.

I think software wise it's good to see a lot of 3rd party support. But I kind of expected more new experiences. MK going open-world is cool. the DK game looks ok so far, can't comment much on that. The paralympic basketball game looked nice for representation, but also looked like a pretty dull experience.

And I guess I expected the other games to look/ run better than they appeared to. Will wait for DigitalFoundry to get a better idea on that. The pack-in game being priced while also an almost nothing experience is a very strange decision.

Dunno... I thought the presentation would be better. But, it's just one showing, still others to go.

I don't know why you'd take points off for a new feature/option that wasn't previously there on Switch 1 & that isn't forced upon you. Yea you can say you don't like the lag, but at least the option is there now, you shouldn't take points off for that.

Watched part of the Tree house direct this morning. Donkey Kong looks incredible, easily the game I'm most looking forward to.
