It's not just for TW3 though, it is for whole Witcher IP, but it is even more nuts given that I'm not sure that high percentage of people who played TW3 even played TW2, let alone first 1.

That other poll, Open world one with 81K votes so far, has TW3 at 13%, right behind RDR2 at 14% (well, Other is 14% as well, but that is spread among who knows how many games).

When I see The Witcher or Red Dead all I think of is TW3 and RDR2, same with GTAV. They are the games that'll enter peoples minds. I suppose Red Dead and The GTAs have more players because of a build up of their earlier titles but TW1 & 2 have a small fraction of TW3. Tiny.

It is strange it done worse in the other poll. Those are large pools of people, you'd think they'd align.

I'm guessing it might have to do with amount of votes, with the first poll having almost 6x votes. Then again, Witcher shouldn't be at all in first poll, so who knows.

I think there's fair amount of people that played TW2, with TW1 being least played, though that is not unexpected, given it was PC exclusive.

Nah, TW2 is 1.7m and TW3 is 50 million. There was no climbing up with many releases like the other series or RDR piggy backing of GTA rockstar success. Just instantly people dropped on to the third game, there are very few examples of this happening.

You're probably right, though the poll was about favourite series, and, honestly, people voting for whole IP based on single title they've played is, IMO, beyond silly.

Not in The Witcher 3 or RDR2s case, everything that made the previous games is in those titles and then more, way more. Just everything perfected. Even in RDR2 the whole entire map of RDR becomes available after the story among other things.

What I'm saying is voting for IP when you've only played one game from that IP is quite silly - you have no idea what other games are like.

I suppose.
