I was trying to tell someone this is a mainly Nintendo centric forum lately, RolStoppable I think and he said it's a 50/50 split between Nintendo and everyone else. Press X to doubt.

Among The Witcher 3, Red Dead 2 and God Of War. Look at the Eurogamer distribution on 450k votes, Zelda can hold it's own at 13% but it'll never dominate in a fair playing feild. Everyone here is Nintendo or Nintendo gamers just prefer action adventure games (which would be Sony gamers) more and clicked into this thread.
That's like a little over 115k votes for Yhe Witcher 3 on Euro gamer, these are my people. How do I sign up there, the pages won't load for me.

we’re talking franchises though. Maybe The Witcher 3 & RDR2 are strong entries in their respective franchises; however, Zelda has OG, LttP, Link’s Awakening, OoT, Majora’s Mask, Windwaker, Twilight Princess, BotW, TotK, etc. There is no other franchise quite like it. You can say this is just a load of Nintendo gamers flooding the polls, but I’d argue otherwise.
(I’ve said this before, but: surely the person with a Majora’s Mask pfp has no bias here lol.)

I'm gonna make a thread to settle this. Be right back.

Witcher is for some weird reason, known only to EG, on that list, but Zelda is definitely action-adventure (bar Zelda II).
It was sort of experiment to replicate it here, since I found EG poll results to be quite interesting, given the massive amount of people of all ages visiting EG. And this new open world poll is even more interesting to me, given that RDR2 beats GTAV on EG by quite a margin.

It is interesting. TW3 still getting a quarter is pretty nuts, I'm not surprised about RDR2 though, that game got a massive new wave of people returning and falling in love again and new gamers from their hype during the pandemic and up til last year, streamers like Actman did blind playthroughs and it's hype soared, all the complaint at launch fell away and people now appreciate the gem of it compared to current AAA release quality.

It's not just for TW3 though, it is for whole Witcher IP, but it is even more nuts given that I'm not sure that high percentage of people who played TW3 even played TW2, let alone first 1.
That other poll, Open world one with 81K votes so far, has TW3 at 13%, right behind RDR2 at 14% (well, Other is 14% as well, but that is spread among who knows how many games).

When I see The Witcher or Red Dead all I think of is TW3 and RDR2, same with GTAV. They are the games that'll enter peoples minds. I suppose Red Dead and The GTAs have more players because of a build up of their earlier titles but TW1 & 2 have a small fraction of TW3. Tiny.
It is strange it done worse in the other poll. Those are large pools of people, you'd think they'd align.
