Astro Bot continues to sell.

Number 12 in January NPD's.

Shouldn't Indiana Jones be in that list?
It released mid December right? So its pretty new still, and its first full month after its release, its not on the list (not a top20 seller)?

I wonder when and how much their first official and permanent price drop is going to be for all SKUs.

And wether it's going to be a quite noticable one or "only" back to the release price tag.

Its a difference if Dragon's Dogma, basically a standard game, with barly any hype sold 3 million, wich probably at least barly exceeded expectations and a game that was supposed to be a "Mario Killer". Of course a game, calling itself like that has to sell "a little bit more" that 3 million to even be taken seriously in that field. If i want to be a soccer player on par with Toni Kros, or Ronaldo i have to reach a bit more than only be in the winning team of a school soccer tournament. Adding the fact, that the Studio behind that game just closed does not help convincing everyone about the games sucess.

Wow very confusing post.

1. When has Astrobot ever called itself the mario killer?

2. What studio just closed? Team Asobi made the game and they are still around.

Japan Studio closed. But they merged with Team Asobi when the Studio was reorganized in April 2021.

January is usually slow month for software sales and new releases.

Even then it didn't manage to crack the top 20 in the US (arguably it's biggest market).

Safe to say Indiana jones is a sales disaster.

Japan studio closed 4 years ago, lad. I think you've misunderstood.

They didn't merge more than 200 people were working at Japan studio and at the time Asobi had 30 employees. We learned some employees went to Nintendo and Monolith Soft.

That's a ton of consoles shipped.
And looking at that 74% digital ratio reaffirms how profitable digital is. I'm really expecting PS6 to be like PS5 Pro with no disc drive SKU offered. You'll have to buy one separately and it will probably mostly be for backwards compatibility and watching movies. I don't expect a lot of PS6 games to have physical copies, unless they just have digital codes inside.

Lifetime Sales Predictions

Switch: 161 million (was 73 million, then 96 million, then 113 million, then 125 million, then 144 million, then 151 million, then 156 million)

PS5: 115 million (was 105 million) Xbox Series S/X: 40 million (was 60 million, then 67 million, then 57 million. then 48 million)

PS4: 120 mil (was 100 then 130 million, then 122 million) Xbox One: 51 mil (was 50 then 55 mil)

3DS: 75.5 mil (was 73, then 77 million)

I suspect the 80 million mark will be reached in the next weeks. Last week alone, over 100,000 PS5 consoles were sold in Japan.

Well they only need 2.3M for the quarter to reach the 18M goal for the end of March which they will beat so it will be at least ~78M in total by March 31st.

IF the PS6 really has a DD this is what i expect too! A code on a box for the beginning of the gen to give people te feeling of owning something even of its only a plastic box and a valueless piece of paper. Later there will be less disc versions of games untill they will move to digital only like it or not. PS7 will be all digital. Unfortunally close to all "exclusives" will be on the PC as well wich will lower the value!
